New to Grow
Since 2016, I've been providing therapy sessions for clients as an LPC in private practice, both in person and virtual. I currently specialize in working with adult women on life transitions, job stress, relationship issues, and grief. I have a strong background in applying CBT and mindfulness techniques. In my personal life, I love the outdoors, creating art, and spending time with people I care about.
In our first session, you can share with me whatever brings you to therapy. I will do my best to start to put the pieces together to learn more about you and which interventions are suitable for your issues. You're welcome to share as much as you want.
I'm a good listener and empathetic. I tend to be supportive, open-minded, and solution oriented.
My specialty is in working with women of all ages who are looking to discuss a variety of issues including life transitions, career/job issues, family stress, marriage/partnership issues or dating, and grief/loss. If you're experiencing stress, anxiety, or some depression related to these issues, I'm here to listen and provide confidential support, while also teaching coping skills and helping you advocate for yourself and work on personal growth.
Attachment-based
I have a few years of clinical private practice experience helping clients recognize their attachment style and how it's affecting their relationships and, subsequently, their self-esteem. Discussions include the initial source of this attachment style, and coping skills for dealing with anxiety or shutting down; also how to improve communication with loved ones regarding feelings, or building boundaries with those who aren't a fit for us, and personal development to grow through old patterns.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have 10 years of clinical private practice experience teaching CBT techniques to clients; also helping them recognize their unhealthy thought patterns and pointing out how to apply a new perspective.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I have 10 years of clinical private practice experience teaching clients about specific Mindfulness-Based techniques, and have utilized mindfulness healing practices in my own life for 30 years.
Supportive
I tend to be non-judgmental and supportive. We all have a different life path and different life experiences. I like to empower my clients and provide a safe space for you to feel heard.
Mind-body approach
The physical and mental parts of ourselves are connected. I like to help clients check in with themselves about any control they can take over their physical health, which will likely also improve their mental health to some extent. Also, our thoughts and mental health affect how motivated we are to take care of ourselves physically. We can strategize what you have control over to take action for better health.
