Suban Warsame
My name is Suban Warsame. I graduated with my Master’s in Nursing with the specialty of Psychiatry and Mental Health from Northern Kentucky University. I have a passion for mental health and love working with individuals from all age groups. I specialize in depression, anxiety, bipolar, ADHD. I am passionate about women’s mental health especially post postpartum depression.
First session
The first appointment is key. The client and I will discuss what the client's goals are. What the underlying cause is and come up with a treatment plan. We will discuss different treatment options for the client. Client will leave the first appointment with the confidence in knowing that a plan is established and that we are one step closer to their goal.
Strengths
My strengths as a provider are empathy, culturally competent, resilience, and effective communicator. These strengths align well with the core competencies needed in mental health practice. I believe my strengths are able to help my client's feel comfortable and help meet their goals.
Ideal clients
I like to create a judgment free zone. A place where clients can open up and free feel. An environment where they can trust and be heard. My treatment approach is to use therapeutic communication and with the clients help come up with the root problem.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a widely used and evidence-based therapeutic approach that focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is commonly employed to treat various mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and stress.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational Interviewing is a client-centered approach, and the goal is to help individuals explore their own reasons for change rather than imposing external motivation. I will foster a collaborative and non-judgmental atmosphere to effectively engage clients in the process of exploring and resolving ambivalence.
