My name is Carmen Royall. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who provides virtual counseling. I worked as a Registered Nurse for 22 years before attending Villanova University to study for a Masters Degree in Counseling and Human Relations.

After graduating from Villanova, and obtaining my license to practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor, I worked in a variety of mental health positions. I have experience as a drug and alcohol counselor, and outpatient mental health counselor, an in-patient mental health counselor, and a community mental health counselor. I am licensed as an LPC in South Carolina and I am a National Board Certified Counselor.
First session
My hope is that my clients would feel comfortable and safe enough to share their most troubling thoughts, feel encouraged to return for further sessions, and understand the counseling process.
Strengths
I emphasize creating positive changes in behavior utilizing a variety of therapeutic approaches including holistic, cognitive and systemic family interventions. I implement the most compatible therapeutic approach with the personality style, situation. and needs of each person. I believe each client is a distinct individual who has the thirst for knowledge and understanding of the life challenges that often cause an imbalance in his or her psyche. It is my goal to help you trust the wisdom within to lead the way to find and create this balance.
Ideal clients
My ideal client would understand the counseling process, know the limits of privacy, know that there is no wrong way to begin and that they will not be forced to dig into painful past trauma before they are ready. Framing therapy as a collaborative process empowers the client rather than make them feel tested or judged. What brought you to therapy today?
