My name is Miltonjha Grier (pronounced Mill-tawn-juh). I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina and South Carolina with years of professional work experience. Bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation Studies and Human Services (2015) Winston Salem State University (Go Rams!) Master's degree in Social Work (2018) Johnson C. Smith University (Go Golden Bulls!) I have experience in helping teens/adolescents, adults and families with stress and anxiety, life changes, motivation, self-esteem/confidence, & depression/anxiety mostly in the outpatient setting. Those are just a few of my favorites but, I have experience with helping individuals with other mood disorders as well. I implement a variety of therapeutic interventions based on your specific needs but just to name a few, I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Solution Focused Therapy. I prefer to tailor the therapy modalities to your needs. I believe that you are the expert on your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. I like to think of myself as down-to-earth, understanding, goal driven and compassionate. I enjoy spending time with family, nights out on the town, traveling, 90's R&B and fashion, and trying new restaurants. My favorite color was pink. I do not have any pets but I enjoy talking about animals and fur babies. My style of therapy is more of a listener but I am here to help you find your own solutions, in an effort to help you leave every session feeling motivated, determined and empowered!
In our first session, we will begin to build rapport and get to know more about one another and your reason for seeking therapy. In sessions to follow, we will set therapy goals and begin unfolding the layers of your goals through talk therapy, introducing and learning coping skills and empathetic listening.
