I’m a therapist who believes you deserve a space where you can show up exactly as you are; messy, overwhelmed, hopeful, angry, unsure, or all of the above. My approach is warm, genuine, affirming, and deeply client-centered. I especially enjoy working with trauma, anxiety, OCD, family dynamics, identity, and life transitions. I’m LGBTQIA+ affirming, HAES-aligned, and committed to creating a space where every part of your identity is respected. Therapy with me can include deep conversations, nervous system work, laughter, tears, and the occasional well-timed swear word.

First session

Your first session is about getting to know each other and making sure you feel comfortable being yourself in the room. There’s no pressure to tell me your entire life story in 50 minutes. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what’s happening in your life right now, and what you hope might feel different. Whether I’m working with an individual, couple, or family, my goal is for you to leave feeling heard, respected, and hopeful that we have a direction forward.

Strengths

I bring warmth, authenticity, humor, curiosity, and a willingness to meet you wherever you are. I’m not the therapist who will simply sit quietly and nod for an hour. I’ll sit with you in the painful moments, celebrate the wins, help you recognize patterns, and gently challenge you when it can help you grow. I integrate evidence-based approaches with nervous system regulation while keeping therapy flexible and human. I want to be one of your biggest cheerleaders while also being someone who will lovingly say, “Okay, but what if we tried something different?” Therapy doesn’t have to feel clinical or intimidating, it can feel like a place where you can finally exhale.

Ideal clients

My ideal client is someone who is ready to better understand themselves, even if they aren’t quite sure where to start. You may be navigating anxiety, OCD, trauma, difficult family dynamics, relationship concerns, identity, major life transitions, or simply feeling exhausted from holding everything together. You don’t need to have the perfect words or a specific goal before coming to therapy. I especially enjoy working with people who want a therapist who is affirming, authentic, collaborative, and willing to both support and gently challenge them.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help you notice the connections between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we may identify patterns like negative self-talk, catastrophizing, or beliefs that keep you feeling stuck. Rather than simply telling you to “think positively,” we’ll explore where those thoughts come from, whether they’re actually serving you, and develop practical ways to respond differently.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use ACT to help you make room for difficult thoughts and emotions without allowing them to control your life. Instead of focusing only on making uncomfortable feelings disappear, we’ll work on changing your relationship with them. We’ll also explore what genuinely matters to you: your values, relationships, identity, and goals: and find realistic ways to move toward the life you want, even when anxiety or discomfort comes along for the ride.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

This is at the heart of how I practice. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and therapy should never feel like someone else is telling you who you should be. I provide a warm, genuine, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace. I’ll listen, reflect, ask questions, celebrate your growth, and gently challenge you when appropriate, but ultimately our work is guided by what matters most to you.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

Your experiences don’t happen in a vacuum. Culture, race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, body size, family, spirituality, socioeconomic experiences, and other parts of identity can all shape how you experience the world. I approach therapy with curiosity rather than assumptions and recognize that systems, discrimination, and cultural expectations can affect mental health. My goal is to create an affirming space where you never have to minimize or leave important parts of yourself at the door.
