LCSW, 10 years of experience
Welcome! As a solution-focused clinician, I am trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I can teach you simple, effective stress-relieving techniques that complement talk therapy. My non-judgmental approach balances the need to listen and validate your experiences while also challenging you to address and resolve life barriers. I have over 10 years of experience working with adolescents, young adults and families struggling with a variety of challenges including ADHD, anger management, anxiety, family conflict, interpersonal relationships, self esteem and trauma. My experience derives from my work within the fields of child services, outpatient services, schools, correctional facilities, and residential facilities. Past and current clients have described my style as empathetic, authentic, warm, energetic and supportive, all with a touch of "tough love". Managing your mental health can be challenging whether you are facing new obstacles or have an existing diagnosis. Here there is no judgment, only a listening ear with positive regard and empathy. Change begins with your mindset and if you're willing, I can help!
In our first therapy session, you can expect a welcoming and supportive environment where we focus on building rapport. We'll begin by discussing your reasons for seeking therapy and any immediate concerns or goals you have. This is a space for you to share your story, and for us to explore your background and current situation. Together, we'll identify key areas of focus and establish a tailored plan for your therapy.
As a therapist, my greatest strengths include my kindness and patience, which create a welcoming and safe space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings. I am firm and supportive, providing a balanced approach that encourages growth and stability. My honesty and authenticity build trust and foster genuine connections. With compassion and empathy, I deeply understand and respect your experiences. I am also invested in your progress, ready to challenge you thoughtfully to achieve meaningful and lasting change.
I love working with young adults who are navigating anxiety and trying to figure out where they fit in life. My ideal client is someone who is motivated to grow, open to learning new and practical coping skills, and ready to take steps toward feeling more confident and grounded. While I may not be the best fit for those who need very frequent sessions or crisis-level care, I am committed to providing a safe, supportive space for clients who are ready to do meaningful work at a steady pace.
