Hi! My name is Joanne Snyder, LPC. I live in Texas and I am passionate about helping people walk through some of the most difficult times in their lives. In our time together we will create a plan that works best for you. I have witnessed EMDR work as an effective tool in therapy and found that resources building through this modality is wonderful to bear witness. It is an honor to be apart of your life for this time and season.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will get to know each other and review what you would like out of our time together. This session is all about you (well all sessions are) but this one is a biggie. Where you will get to discuss what brought you to seek therapy, the journey to the office, and from this we can set goals and create a plan together. At times I will introduce EMDR during this session only as an overview as well as other techniques.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have worked with many clients in the past 13 years and some of my greatest strengths are allowing space between me and you to process your experiences and to offer a compassionate listening ear.

My treatment methods

EMDR

I have been using EMDR in person with a light bar/hand sensors and remotely using visual cues. I am trained and certified in EMDR, in short that means many hours with a mentor working through EMDR best practices. As EMDR has evolved and advertised for trauma processing it is also effective for depression, anxiety, and creating resources within your own awesome self to endure the day and day out changes of life. Resource building is crucial for the foundational work we will do together.

Adlerian

Adlerian therapy is based up the theories of Alfred Adler, remember from psych. 101? Adler was a believer in the individual and their connection with the world around them. Adlerian therapy is most effective for creating a sense of self and increasing awareness of ones own strengths that others may see but you as a client may not.
