I’m a licensed mental health counselor with over 20 years of experience in the human services field. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work as a therapist, clinical coordinator, and director of operations, which has given me a well-rounded understanding of both client care and clinical leadership. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and a Master’s degree in Mental Health, and I became a licensed mental health counselor in 2016. At the heart of my work is a genuine passion for helping people navigate life’s challenges, build resilience, and improve their overall well-being.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
The first therapy session is a chance for us to get to know each other in a comfortable, supportive space. We’ll spend time talking about what brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping to get out of it, and any concerns or questions you may have. There’s no pressure to share everything at once—you’re in control of the pace. I’ll also ask some background questions to better understand your experiences, strengths, and challenges, and I’ll explain how therapy works, including confidentiality and what you can expect moving forward. Most importantly, the first session is about helping you feel heard, respected, and safe. By the end of the session, we’ll begin to identify goals and discuss next steps so therapy feels purposeful and tailored to you.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My greatest strength as a therapist is my genuine empathy for the people I work with. I understand firsthand how challenging mental health struggles can be—I’ve lived with anxiety, depression, and ADHD, and I’ve also worked through my own experiences with trauma. I began my healing journey at 26, and along the way I learned just how powerful it is to feel truly understood. Because I’ve been there, I bring both personal insight and professional experience into the therapy space. My goal is to meet you where you are, help you feel seen and supported, and work alongside you as you heal, grow, and become the best version of yourself.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
Life can feel overwhelming when stress, anxiety, depression, grief, or relationship challenges start pulling you off course. If you’re feeling stuck, lost, or just not like yourself, you don’t have to figure it out alone. I work with individuals navigating life transitions, emotional stress, LGBTQ+ concerns, and relationship issues, helping them regain clarity and confidence in their direction. Think of me as your personal GPS—someone who helps you recalibrate when life takes an unexpected turn and guides you toward where you want to be. Together, we’ll create a path that feels authentic, manageable, and aligned with the life you’ve always envisioned. I’m currently accepting new clients and offer flexible afternoon, and evening appointments. When you’re ready to take the first step, reach out and let’s get started.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
It is used as a structured, goal-oriented psychotherapy that teaches you to change unhealthy thought patterns and behaviors to improve mood and manage mental health conditions and other difficult life situations. It works by identifying how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected, helping you to challenge and modify negative self-talk and irrational beliefs. CBT is effective for a range of conditions, including depression, anxiety, chronic pain, insomnia, and eating disorders, and involves practical, active participation from the individual.
Trauma Informed Care
I use it as a method that recognizes the widespread impact of trauma and seeks to minimize re-traumatization while promoting healing and recovery
Eclectic
I like to use a method or methods that best match the needs of the individual. Its not a one size fits all. Different people will connect with different methods.
Gender-affirming therapy
I use this as a form of psychotherapy that supports and affirms the gender identity of transgender and gender non-conforming individuals.
