(she/her)
I am a licensed psychologist here to help you through this challenging time to a place of healing and growth. By listening without judgment and asking questions, I help you identify issues and work through them to find understanding, release from emotional pain, and clarity on where you want to go. I provide a safe space for us to work together to identify your goals and to create a plan that fits your needs. You set the pace. I am your guide on this journey.
Therapy is a collaborative process to lessen distress and help you get to where you want to go. In our first session, I will ask questions about what brings you to therapy, how you feel, family and medical history, work, and relationships. These questions help give context and deepen my sense of who you are and help you understand where you are now and what you may want to explore.
I help answer, “What am I feeling and why do I think and feel this way?” When appropriate and at your pace, I help explore possible connections to past events to provide a fuller picture of what may be affecting your sense of who you are, what you know, and how you feel. Always bringing the focus back to your present challenges. I teach communication skills and mindful ways to help calm and be kinder to yourself. I provide support to help promote self-understanding and enhance healing and well-being.
At the initial visit, if I believe I can help you, you are my ideal client. It is up to you to decide whether I am the right therapist to help guide you on your journey.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you identify and challenge negative thoughts that affect your mood. We’ll work together to understand how these thoughts contribute to feelings of anxiety or sadness. I’ll help you question these thoughts and find new perspectives. We’ll also focus on activities that bring you joy. I’ll teach you practical skills for managing stress and coping with challenges, including relaxation techniques and problem-solving strategies. We’ll track your progress so you can see how the changes we make are helping you feel better and celebrate your successes along the way.
I use Compassion Focused Therapy to help you develop self-compassion and address issues like shame and self-criticism. We focus on creating a sense of safety and connection. You will learn to recognize your thoughts and feelings without judgment, which helps you challenge negative self-talk. By building self-compassion, you can reduce emotional distress, become more resilient, and improve your relationships with yourself and others.
I use Interpersonal Therapy to help you improve your emotional well-being by focusing on your relationships. We work together to identify specific issues, such as grief, life changes, or conflicts, that may be causing distress. I encourage you to express and explore your feelings about these relationships, helping you understand how your emotions affect your interactions. We also develop effective communication skills, like assertiveness and conflict resolution, to strengthen your relationships and reduce misunderstandings.
I use Trauma-Informed Therapy to help you heal from traumatic experiences and enhance your emotional well-being. I provide a safe and supportive space for you to explore how trauma affects your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, we process your experiences at your own pace, allowing you to express emotions and understand the thoughts linked to your trauma. I teach you coping strategies to manage symptoms like anxiety and depression, and we work on challenging negative beliefs that may have arisen from your experiences. This process helps you build resilience and empowerment, enabling you to face future challenges with more confidence and improve your overall quality of life.
