I am a licensed psychologist here to help you move from pain toward healing and growth. When appropriate, we will explore connections to past events while maintaining a focus on your present challenges and how to overcome them. I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore these challenges, clarify your goals, and co-create a plan using cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness approaches. I teach practical skills so you can learn to navigate difficulties yourself, reduce emotional pain, and move toward greater clarity and well-being.
Therapy is a collaborative process to lessen distress and help you get to where you want to go. In our first session I’ll ask what brings you to therapy, how you feel, and about your family, medical, work, and relationship history. These questions provide context, deepen my understanding of you, and help you clarify where you are now and the goals you want to achieve through our work together.
I'm driven by a belief that people can move from pain to greater understanding and agency. I help clients recognize patterns, learn practical skills, and cultivate self compassion so they feel empowered to face life's challenges with clarity and choice. We work together to find the best way to achieve your goals. As we understand your evolving situations, thoughts, and feelings more clearly, we will explore what you need and want. You will set the pace. The journey is to build a foundation of successful steps to develop skills, confidence, and self-understanding. I am present, engaged, and focused on helping and empowering you to build skills, self-knowledge, and self compassion.
I often work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, low motivation, relationship and identity concerns, anger, stress, and grief. If I believe I can help you, you are my ideal client.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you identify and challenge negative thoughts that affect your mood. We’ll work together to understand how these thoughts contribute to feelings of anxiety or sadness. I’ll help you question these thoughts and find new perspectives. We’ll also focus on activities that bring you joy. I’ll teach you practical skills for managing stress and coping with challenges, including relaxation techniques and problem-solving strategies. We’ll track your progress so you can see how the changes we make are helping you feel better and celebrate your successes along the way.
I use Compassion Focused Therapy to help you develop self-compassion and address issues like shame and self-criticism. We focus on creating a sense of safety and connection. You will learn to recognize your thoughts and feelings without judgment, which helps you challenge negative self-talk. By building self-compassion, you can reduce emotional distress, become more resilient, and improve your relationships with yourself and others.
I use Interpersonal Therapy to help you improve your emotional well-being by focusing on your relationships. We work together to identify specific issues, such as grief, life changes, or conflicts, that may be causing distress. I encourage you to express and explore your feelings about these relationships, helping you understand how your emotions affect your interactions. We also develop effective communication skills, like assertiveness and conflict resolution, to strengthen your relationships and reduce misunderstandings.
I use Trauma-Informed Therapy to help you heal from traumatic experiences and enhance your emotional well-being. I provide a safe and supportive space for you to explore how trauma affects your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, we process your experiences at your own pace, allowing you to express emotions and understand the thoughts linked to your trauma. I teach you coping strategies to manage symptoms like anxiety and depression, and we work on challenging negative beliefs that may have arisen from your experiences. This process helps you build resilience and empowerment, enabling you to face future challenges with more confidence and improve your overall quality of life.
