Kaitlin Sutton
Come as you are. You don’t need to have the right words, have everything figured out, or know exactly where to begin. Bring your fears, your struggles, your questions, and the parts of life that feel heavy. We’ll make space for all of it together, without judgment and at your own pace. You don’t have to navigate the difficult moments alone. My hope is that therapy can be a place where you feel genuinely seen, supported, and understood as you work toward a life that feels more manageable and meaningful. I provide a compassionate and nonjudgmental space where you can feel comfortable exploring what you’re experiencing and working toward interpersonal growth and positive changes you want to see in your life. I can assist you in prioritizing their current needs, identifying and processing their life stressors, and further developing coping skills
First session
My approach is strengths-based and solution-focused, grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I believe therapy is not one-size-fits-all, so I creatively tailor evidence-based practices to each client. As a Board Certified Music Therapist, I often use music to support safe space processing, communication, self-insight, connection, and a safe space to explore difficult experiences. For our first session I am going to ask a lot about your history, but more importantly what you feel is most important to you. You are your own expert! I hope you feel seen and confident that I can assist you towards your goals!

Treatment methods
Solution-Focused Brief Treatment
Everyone comes to therapy for a specific reason. We can manage whatever you bring to the table with the focus on our goals and what we are going to do regarding it! Let's move through it!
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Everyone struggles with negative thoughts that get in the way of their best life. With CBT, we will challenge negative thoughts to reframe how we view ourselves and our world.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
With ACT we can work on accepting the uncomfortable emotions rather than fighting or avoiding them with the focus on how this and your behaviors align with your personal values.
Motivational Interviewing
With motivational interviewing, we will look at current behaviors and how those might interfere with your long term goals, overcome these discrepancies, and empower you to make the changes you strive to see.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
This method is very much utilized alongside all other methods. This is a space of authenticity, transparency, no judgement, and with significant empathy regarding your inner world and experience.
