Hi and welcome! My name is Iris Raileanu Pincin and I am Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Southern California. I work with individuals on a variety of topics such as depression, anxiety, trauma etc. utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused- CBT, Psychodynamic etc.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In your first session with me the focus will be on gaining a better understanding of what brought you to me. That may include questions, seeking clarification etc. I try my best to balance rapport building with insight to symptoms and behaviors as it is very understanding that opening up to a complete stranger on the first session can be difficult. Let's find a balance together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I'm a people person and I have always been. Being able to connect with people has always been one of my strongest abilities. It is a great privilege to get to know someone deeply, and I do not take that for granted. Connecting with people is the best part of life: that is why I chose this career path. Every individual is unique, and one size does not fit all. I firmly believe in an eclectic and collaborative approach where together; we find what works best for you individually. I am curious about you and who you are, and you are the expert in your own life.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I have found that my style and approach fit well with people who are ready to take it a step further and deeper into understanding own needs, unprocessed feelings and experiences and gain new insights.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help people problem-solve and uncover the relationship between beliefs, thoughts, and feelings, and the behaviors that follow.

Psychodynamic

I use a Psychodynamic approach to increase the understanding that recognizing behaviors for what they are can help clients build healthy coping mechanisms. This approach explores why we do what we do, tying past events and subconscious constructs into present behaviors and behavior patterns. All this while establishing a good client-therapist relationship.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use a Solution Focused approach for those that seek short term treatment and have specific goals they want to achieve as well as those who appreciate a directive approach.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Similarly to CBT, I use TF-CBT to problem-solve and uncover the relationship between beliefs, thoughts, and feelings, and the behaviors that follow and how they all relate to trauma.
