(they/them)
New to Grow
I am a Black, queer, neurospicy, non-binary therapist (they/them). I bring both lived experience and clinical knowledge to our therapeutic relationship. My approach centers cultural diversity, equity, and justice in all aspects of our work together. I believe in meeting you exactly where you are, honoring your unique identity and experiences. My practice is grounded in creating authentic connections that foster deep trust, emotional safety, and respect for your inherent autonomy and right to self-determination. Every client deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued for who they are. My diverse clinical experience spans across community mental health and educational settings. I approach our work through a holistic lens, recognizing that your internal world and external experiences are interconnected and equally important in understanding your story. I am passionate about this work and bring my full dedication and unwavering commitment. When I'm not in sessions, you'll find me watching a good movie or show, going to the bookstore, touching grass, spending time with family, and tattooing.
During our initial meeting, we'll focus on getting to know each other. I'll invite you to share what brings you to therapy and what you're hoping to explore or work toward. This is your time—I'm here to listen. By the end of our first session, my hope is that you'll have a sense of whether this feels like a space where your healing, growth, and self-exploration can unfold.
Connection and Community: I believe therapy works best when it feels natural. I bring humor, warmth, and a casual approach to our sessions. You can expect genuine conversation and laughter Honoring Your Wisdom: I invite you to bring your ancestral knowledge, cultural practices, and spiritual tools into our work together. I incorporate tarot and divination in my practice and welcome whatever traditions, rituals, or ways of knowing feel meaningful to you. Adaptability and Growth: I'm flexible and meet you where you are, adjusting my approach to fit your needs. I'm always learning, and I genuinely invite my clients to give me homework too—this work is collaborative, and you teach me as much as I support you. Resourceful and Creative Support: I provide case management support and coach clients through navigating complex systems. I'm always researching books, tools, and resources that align with your treatment goals Cultural Responsiveness: I bring a deep commitment to cultural diversity, equity, and justice. My practice honors the complexity of identity and intersectionality Relational Authenticity: I show up with dedication, integrity, and genuine passion for this work. I believe healing happens through real, human connection—one where you're met with compassion, dignity, respect, and unwavering support for your growth.
Relational
Cultural relational trauma-informed therapy recognizes that trauma occurs within cultural and relational contexts, addressing how systemic oppression, discrimination, and collective historical trauma impact individuals and communities while centering the healing power of culturally-grounded relationships and practices. This approach integrates an understanding of how culture shapes both traumatic experiences and resilience, emphasizing the importance of therapeutic relationships that honor clients' cultural identities and community connections as pathways to healing
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I integrate both my clients cultural identities and trauma histories, to engage in values based work that allows clients to take meaningful action within the different areas of their life
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
We will work together to bring gentle, non-judgemental awareness to your present - moment experiences through the usage of journaling, breathing exercises, guided visualizations, and body movement. Mindfulness practices can come in a variety of forms and I value the ability to adapt and modify practices that validate the lived experiences of my clients
Trauma Informed Care
Through the co-creation of a therapeutic environment that fosters mutual care, understanding, respect, trust, consent and autonomy. I support my clients in deepening their understanding of how their trauma experiences shape their relationship to themselves, others and institutions, in order to move toward a path of trauma recovery and healing.
Strength-Based
I support my clients in identifying the ways they have learned and resourced themselves to navigate complex systems and experiences that builds onto a foundation that helps you achieve your goals and current challenges
