Roni Silberstein

LMFT, 4 years of experience

My practice is deeply trauma-informed, recognizing the profound impact that past experiences—both big and small—can have on our nervous systems, relationships, and sense of self. To support healing, I integrate Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a powerful modality that helps process distressing memories and shift long-held patterns and beliefs. Additionally, I incorporate somatic, body-based approaches to help regulate the nervous system, foster safety in the body, and reconnect with inner wisdom. I operate from a feminist, intersectional framework, acknowledging how systemic oppression, cultural narratives, and societal expectations shape our experiences. My practice is a queer-affirmative space where all identities are welcomed and celebrated. Whether you're exploring identity, navigating relationships, or working through trauma, you are met with unconditional support and a commitment to holding space for your authentic self.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Together, we will work toward increasing self-compassion, becoming more attuned to your emotions and their accompanying somatic sensations, and processing traumatic experiences that continue to affect your daily life. My goal is to help you foster a deeper connection with yourself, release what no longer serves you, and build a sense of safety and empowerment from within.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have a deep passion for helping people process trauma. I understand how complex and deeply personal the healing journey is, and I bring both warmth and empathy to create a space where my clients feel truly safe and seen. I believe that connection is a powerful force in therapy, and I prioritize building a relationship that allows for trust, openness, and genuine healing. With many years of experience in both treatment center settings and group practice, I’ve had the opportunity to work with many different individuals and challenges. This has provided me with a diverse set of therapeutic tools, and my goal is always to tailor my approach to what feels most supportive and effective for each client. I use these tools to help people find peace and empowerment in ways that resonate with them.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

With warmth, empathy, and a holistic approach, I provide a safe, affirming space where queer individuals and those healing from childhood trauma can explore their identities and experiences without judgment. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, PTSD, low self-esteem, or grief, I am here to support you. I am especially passionate about helping clients process the lasting impact of early life experiences and offering guidance to those exploring gender, sexuality, and spirituality.

My treatment methods

EMDR

My background is in trauma work, and I am an EMDR-trained clinician. I use EMDR to help you reprocess traumatic memories and experiences in a way that feels healthy and supportive. With tools and techniques from EMDR, we can work together to help you move through the experiences that have kept you feeling stuck and find pathways toward healing.

Somatic

Our bodies tell us exactly what emotions we feel, where they come from, and what we need. With somatic work, you can learn to listen and meet those needs. When you acknowledge and accept the emotions present in your body, you can find huge insights and experience emotional release and transformation. Somatic work is a huge part of my training as a trauma therapist, and I would be honored to guide you through how to listen to your body.

Compassion Focused

Many people who have been through trauma struggle with self-compassion. I see self-compassion as a way to find a deeper understanding of who you are, where your behaviors come from, and how to be fair to yourself in your process. I approach all my sessions with warmth, empathy, and a collaborative approach to help you foster a deeper sense of self-compassion, which will allow for greater healing.
