Welcome! I am a licensed therapist in California and Illinois with over 13 years experience providing therapy to youth, adults and families across a variety of settings. Throughout my career I've had the privilege of supporting individuals from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds as well as clients of all sexual orientations, gender identities and neurodiverse experiences. I am committed to creating a safe, supportive and nonjudgemental space where you can feel heard, respected and accepted for who you are and where you are on your journey. Together we will work to build on your strengths, develop effective coping strategies, and creating lasting change that aligns with your values. Reaching out for support is a courageous first step and I am here to support you.
In our first session together, I will encourage you to share about yourself at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I also will welcome you to ask me any questions that allow you to get to know me and what to expect in our work together.
I bring a warm, relaxed and genuine approach to therapy, with the goal of helping clients feel comfortable from the very first session. I'm focused on creating a therapeutic setting to allow individuals to be seen and heard. I meet clients where they are, recognizing every individual has a unique story, set of strengths, and personal goals. I work collaboratively with you and encourage you to move at a pace that feels comfortable for you, while providing guidance and gentle encouragement as you work towards meaningful growth.
I enjoy supporting children, teens and adults who are seeking support through life's challenges and transitions. With children and adolescents, I help clients build emotional regulation skills, navigate friendships and peer relationships, strengthen self-esteem, and cope with changes within their family or home environment. My goal is to provide a supportive space where young people feel understood while developing insight, coping skills and confidence. I also enjoy working with adults who are ready to invest in themselves through self growth and exploration. Whether you're navigating a life transition, managing stress or anxiety, exploring patterns in relationships, or seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, therapy can provide the space to reflect, heal, and move toward a more fulfilling life.
I use the method of CBT with clients to help explore their thoughts, beliefs and attitudes and how effect your feelings and actions.
I use this approach to provide a safe and non-judgemental space to allow you to increase understanding and awareness of yourself and in relationship to others.
I provide mindfulness exercises such as meditation and guided imagery to allow you to calm the nervous system, detach from overwhelming thoughts and cultivate a more positive outlook.
For clients that are looking for shorter term work, I have experience with using Solution-Focused Therapy in order to help you set concrete goals for yourself and build positive momentum toward those goals.
