LCSW, 5 years of experience
New to Grow
I am a dedicated and compassionate licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor (LCADC). I am committed to supporting individuals on their journey toward healing and recovery. I completed my master’s degree in social work from Rutgers University and have years of first-hand experience working one-on-one with clients. I am a certified clinical trauma professional (CCTP), equipped with the skills and expertise necessary to address the complex needs of those affected by trauma.
I like to use my first session to establish some clear goals and expectations. Typically I will start by asking what brings you into therapy and describing what it is that you would like to gain or change through working together.
I believe that hope, empathy, and consistency are the best combination for creating and maintaining change. I also believe that the therapeutic relationship can be an important tool for growth. I aim to develop positive relationship dynamics with my clients so that I can best serve them and their specific needs.
My approach to therapy is rooted in advocacy and collaboration. I strive to amplify the voices of my clients and work alongside them to identify personalized solutions and strategies for growth. I have a deep-seated belief in the resilience of the human spirit and I am dedicated to facilitating positive change and supporting individuals as they overcome mental health challenges and/or break free from the cycle of addiction and trauma.
I value empathy as the cornerstone of the therapeutic relationship. I believe in cultivating a safe and nonjudgmental environment where my clients can feel heard, understood, and empowered to navigate their healing process. I like to utilize a combination of evidence-based practices in my work, depending on the needs of the client. I am well versed in CBT, DBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, and Strengths-Based Interventions. I also believe that psychoeducation is an important part of the therapeutic process.
