The first session is getting-to-know you, your desired goals and outcome.
I am empathetic, understanding and supportive and meet clients where they are.
Clients best helped by me are the ones who have a positive therapeutic relationship.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In my clinical work, I incorporate principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as a structured and evidence-based approach to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions and behaviors. CBT provides practical tools that support clients in identifying patterns of thinking that may contribute to emotional distress, anxiety, depression or difficulty coping with life stressors.
Cognitive Processing (CPT)
In my clinical work as a therapist, I incorporate principles of Cognitive Processing Therapy as an evidence-based treatment approach for individuals who have experienced trauma. CPT is a cognitive-behavioral treatment designed to help clients examine and re-evalaute beliefs related to traumatic experiences, particularly beliefs that may contribute to ongoing distress, shame, guilt or self-blame.
Trauma Informed Care
At its core, trauma-informed care in my practice is relational. It emphasizes attunement, validation, and consistency. It honors resilience while acknowledging pain. I have found that when clients feel seen through this lens - as individuals who adapted rather than failed - deeper healing becomes possible.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
In my practice, I use DBT-informed interventions to help clients build practical, structured coping skills. Many individuals I work with experience intense emotions, interpersonal stress or difficulty tolerating distress. DBT-informed therapy provides concrete tools that speak to mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness.
