Holly Prahm, LMFT has worked with diverse populations struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD/Trauma, Autism, Family relational challenges, infertility, and many other concerns. She has had successful outcomes using Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectic Behavior Therapy, Jung Therapy, Faith Based Therapy, Poly-Vagal and Somatic therapy interventions. These interventions emphasize clients learning how to notice and regulate their nervous systems when activated then find the root cause and address triggers. Somatic therapy is a body-centered approach to healing that connects the mind and body to release the physical and emotional effects of trauma and stress. It uses psychotherapy combined with physical techniques like movement and breathwork to address the way psychological issues can be held in the body. This holistic therapy can help with conditions such as PTSD, anxiety, depression, and chronic pain. Polyvagal therapy is a mind-body approach that uses the principles of Polyvagal Theory to help individuals understand and regulate their nervous system's response to stress, safety, and connection. By educating clients about the autonomic nervous system and its states (safe/social, fight/flight, and freeze/shutdown), this therapy teaches self-regulation techniques to shift out of survival modes and into a state of calm and resilience. It is commonly used for anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other trauma-related issues, combining psychoeducation with techniques like mindful breathing, movement, and listening protocols. Jungian therapy, also known as analytical psychology, is a form of psychodynamic therapy developed by Carl Jung that focuses on integrating the conscious and unconscious aspects of the psyche to achieve psychological wholeness. This long-term therapy helps individuals understand the root causes of their problems by exploring their personal history, dreams, and unconscious symbols through techniques like dream analysis and active imagination. The goal is individuation, or a balanced and unified personality. Faith-based therapy is a therapeutic approach that integrates spiritual and religious beliefs with evidence-based psychological practices to support a client's mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. It recognizes a person's faith as a resource for healing and personal growth, and it can involve prayer, scripture, and other spiritual practices as a complement to standard counseling techniques. In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I am very open and authentic in my communication and believe in a collaborative and transparent therapeutic relationship. I will treat you as the expert to your life and spend time gathering a thorough history of trauma and biopsychosocioal dynamics. After this assessment we would identify treatment goals and a treatment plan based on your "Voice and Choice". I would then provide clinical recommendations and a timeline for the therapeutic process. I then prefer to work in an integrative and holistic approach on your overall health and wellness. This may mean we discuss possible referrals for medical evaluation, nutrition, fitness, holistic wellness practitioners to rule-out or affirm possible underlying conditions that may contribute to symptoms. We will discuss your experiences with other providers both positive and negative in order to understand your lens on previous mental health and wellness. I will gladly answer any questions about my process or my professional experience. I will also inquire about possibly including your spiritual beliefs and practices in conjunction to the therapeutic treatment plan.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have a rich history of lived experience with challenging family relational dynamics, trauma, Panic Disorder, PTSD, ADHD and inner partner violence survival and recovery. I emphasize the nervous system and processing root causes upon an individual's highest good as they address the many facets of their emotional and psyche. I have helped many individuals process and subsequently learn to cope with trauma and triggers so that they can improve their quality of life. Many people suffer with depression and anxiety symptoms that are often a result of nervous system burnout. Helping individuals identify hyper and hypo-arousal of their nervous system and subsequently teaching them how to self-sooth and regulate their nervous systems have shown numerous successful outcomes. I further emphasize integration not avoidance or rejection of emotions, thoughts and feelings which help people to process deeper understanding of themselves and those around them. I was overlooked in school and had to overcome many challenges along the way. As a result, I am a fierce advocate for individuals that have neurodivergence and learning disabilities. I have assisted many parents to navigate challenging academic systems for their children. I have assisted children and families in understanding their neurodivergent challenges different parenting needs. My combination of trauma-focused CBT, DBT and nervous system regulation techniques have assisted many individuals and families learn effective coping strategies and emotional regulation techniques. I have helped individuals with comorbid diagnosis such as Autism, ODD, PDA, ADHD, and PTSD increase their distress tolerance and communication skills. I have assisted many individuals to gain skills to cope with Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria. is a type of talking therapy that helps people change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. It works by focusing on the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and actions to improve mood and coping strategies for a wide range of mental and physical health issues like depression, anxiety, and chronic pain. It is often a structured, short-term therapy that can involve practical exercises and teaches skills to manage problems effectively

Polyvagal Therapy

a treatment approach that uses the principles of Polyvagal Theory to help people regulate their stress responses by understanding how the autonomic nervous system (ANS) works. It focuses on helping clients move from "fight, flight, or freeze" states toward a "social engagement" state, where they feel safe and connected, using techniques like breathing exercises, body awareness, and social connection.
