Hi, I’m Imani, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker committed to creating a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered. I help individuals navigate anxiety, trauma, and life transitions by building emotional awareness, practical coping skills, and deeper insight into patterns that may be holding them back. My approach is collaborative and strengths-based, focusing on helping clients gain clarity, emotional balance, and confidence as they move toward meaningful change in their lives.
Your first session is a space to share what’s been bringing you to therapy and what you hope to work on. We’ll discuss your goals, background, and begin identifying areas of focus in a supportive, collaborative way. You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of the therapy process and next steps.
My strengths include creating emotionally safe spaces where clients feel comfortable being honest and vulnerable, balancing insight with practical coping skills, and using a trauma-informed, collaborative approach. I’m especially intentional about helping clients recognize their strengths, build confidence, and work toward goals in a way that feels realistic, affirming, and sustainable.
I work best with self-aware, motivated individuals who are open to reflection and personal growth. My ideal clients are willing to engage actively in the therapeutic process, practice skills outside of sessions, and explore both present-day challenges and deeper patterns over time. Whether you’re navigating stress, healing from past experiences, or adjusting to a life transition, you value accountability, emotional insight, and intentional self-development. You don’t need to have everything figured out—just a willingness to show up honestly, stay committed, and do the work.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I use DBT to help clients build practical skills for emotion regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness. Sessions focus on identifying emotional patterns, increasing awareness of triggers, and practicing concrete coping strategies to manage intense emotions and reduce maladaptive behaviors.
Attachment-based
I use attachment-based approaches to explore how early relational experiences influence current relationships, emotional needs, and patterns of connection. Therapy focuses on building emotional safety, increasing insight into attachment styles, and strengthening the client’s ability to form secure, healthy relationships.
Psychodynamic
I use psychodynamic techniques to help clients examine unconscious patterns, past experiences, and internal conflicts that impact present-day thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Sessions emphasize insight-building, emotional processing, and understanding how past relationships shape current functioning.
Strength-Based
I use a strengths-based approach to identify and amplify clients’ existing skills, resilience, and personal resources. Therapy emphasizes empowerment, self-efficacy, and leveraging strengths to support growth, problem-solving, and goal attainment.
