I’m Shirley Beranger, PMHNP‑BC, licensed in Florida and Arizona. I provide secure telepsychiatry care across the lifespan, offering psychiatric evaluations, medication management, supportive therapy, and ongoing follow‑up. My approach is compassionate, practical, and fully individualized. I work collaboratively with each patient listening closely to their needs, concerns, and goals to create a clear, and empowering supportive treatment plan.

First session

During the first session, clients can expect a calm, welcoming space where we take time to understand their concerns, history, and goals. I guide them through a structured yet conversational evaluation, asking thoughtful questions to get a full picture of what they’re experiencing. We discuss symptoms, stressors, strengths, and what they hope to achieve through care. By the end of the visit, they’ll have a clearer understanding of their diagnosis, initial treatment recommendations, and next steps. Most importantly, they’ll leave feeling heard, supported, and confident that we’re working together toward a plan that fits their needs.

Strengths

I create a space where patients feel genuinely heard. My strength lies in listening closely to their concerns, understanding their goals, and work with them. I hold space when someone needs support, reflection, or gentleness and I challenge them when it’s clinically appropriate, especially if it helps them grow, gain insight, or move toward meaningful change. Each visit becomes unique because it’s shaped by the patient’s voice and our shared decision‑making.

Ideal clients

My ideal client is someone who is open to exploring their concerns, willing to share their story, and motivated to work collaboratively toward meaningful change. They may be navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, or simply seeking clarity and balance. What matters most is their mindset a readiness to be honest, curious, and engaged in the process. Together, we build a supportive partnership where their goals guide the treatment plan, and each step feels intentional, empowering, and aligned with their needs.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use this treatment method by tailoring it to each client’s unique needs, goals, and lived experience. In our sessions, I help clients identify patterns in their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and we explore how those patterns affect their daily functioning. Together, we build practical strategies that support healthier coping, emotional regulation, and meaningful change.
