*Sliding scale fee available Welcome! My name is Natasha (she/her/hers), and I am so glad you’re here. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Connecticut with six years of experience providing mental health support to individuals in a variety of settings, including educational environments, emergency mobile psychiatric services, outpatient clinics, and residential programs. I primarily address anxiety, depression, stress, grief, trauma, ADHD, interpersonal challenges, and coping with chronic illness.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
During our first session, often called an intake session, we will review the informed consent and practice policies so you have a clear understanding of how therapy works, what to expect, and your rights and responsibilities as a client. I will also gather important background information, including your presenting concerns and your psychiatric, medical, and social histories. Next, we will establish goals that align with your needs and values to guide our work. Finally, we will determine a schedule for your ongoing sessions.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I welcome clients to come as they are and share openly in a nonjudgmental space. My approach is evidence-based, primarily incorporating cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), as well as dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), solutions-focused brief therapy (SFBT), and other approaches as appropriate. I also encourage attention to all aspects of well-being, including physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual health, among others, to support positive mental health outcomes. In addition to providing psychotherapy, I have extensive experience in case management and am happy to help you navigate school, work, community resources, and other systems so you can thrive in all areas of life.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I am best positioned to serve clients who are committed to the therapeutic process, open to self-exploration, and willing to challenge themselves to grow and make meaningful life changes. However, I will always work at the same pace as you, no matter where you are in your therapeutic journey, and I recognize that you are the expert of your own life. Hope to hear from you!
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have utilized cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) across various clinical settings and age groups, often with clients experiencing anxiety or depression. CBT helps clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence one another, while encouraging them to challenge unhelpful thought patterns, develop healthy coping mechanisms and enhanced problem-solving skills. I will also refer to additional evidence-based therapies, depending on your needs.
