LCSW, 6 years of experience
Welcome! My name is Natasha (she/her/hers), and I am so glad to have you here. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with six years of experience in the mental health field. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Connecticut, and I have had the privilege of supporting individuals and families across Connecticut in a variety of settings, including schools, residential programs, and crisis units.
During our first session, often called an intake session, I will gather important background information about you, including your presenting concerns, as well as your medical, psychiatric, and social histories. If we both feel that we are a good therapeutic fit, I will collaborate with you to create goals that reflect your needs and values, which will guide our work together. We will also determine a schedule for your sessions. If we are not a good fit (which is completely okay), I will provide referrals to other providers to ensure that you receive the best care.
I welcome clients to come as they are and share openly in a safe, non-judgmental space. Alongside focusing on mental well-being, I encourage attention to other aspects of wellness, including physical, emotional, and social health, to support a holistic approach and enhance the likelihood of positive mental health outcomes.
While I address a range of concerns, most of my clinical experience involves supporting clients through anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief, trauma, family conflict, and school-related challenges. I provide individual therapy to clients age 12 and older. At this time, sessions are offered during weekday evenings, so I encourage you to reach out if this availability fits your schedule.
I have utilized cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) across various clinical settings and age groups, often with clients experiencing anxiety or depression. CBT helps clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence one another, while encouraging them to challenge unhelpful thought patterns, develop healthy coping mechanisms and enhanced problem-solving skills. I will also refer to additional evidence-based therapies, depending on your needs.
