11 years of experience
I earned a bachelor’s in psychology from the University of La Verne in La Verne, CA and a master’s in social work from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND. I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and I’ve been working in the mental health field for over a decade. I provide virtual individual psychotherapy to adults in the state of Florida and feel honored to support others in their journey to find a better version of themselves.
In our first session we'll start with brief introductions to build rapport by getting to know each other. I will go over consents and practice policies to ensure that we're both on the same page about the therapeutic process and then we'll move on to the initial assessment (series of questions that I will ask) to help me understand where you come from and why you've decided to take this important first step.
My clinical training along with my life experiences, as a bilingual Latina woman, mother, former military spouse, and business owner that has worked in the mental health field for over a decade, provides me the knowledge needed to become your partner through this process of growth and healing.
I specialize in stress, burnout, and anxiety to help improve personal and professional resilience. I also have extensive experience working with grief & loss, chronic illnesses, life transitions, caregiver burnout, and anxiety/depressive symptoms associated with receiving a difficult diagnosis for the patients or a loved one.
We'll explore together the relation between your thoughts, emotions, and behavior and work to identify and challenge negative thinking patterns that are no longer serving you.
We'll explore your motivation for change while working through any mixed feelings and/or barriers that might be holding you back.
We'll explore your desired goal/outcome and utilize a solution-building approach to help you get there.
