Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In your first session, you can expect a welcoming and confidential space focused on getting to know you. I will ask about what brought you to therapy, your current concerns, and relevant aspects of your personal, emotional, and mental health history. This session is also a chance for you to ask questions, share what you hope to gain from therapy, and get a sense of whether the this therapeutic relationship feels like a good fit. There is no pressure to share everything at once; the pace is guided by your comfort. By the end of the session, we will discuss some goals, next steps, and what future sessions might look like.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My therapeutic approach is grounded in creating a warm, empathetic, and respectful environment where clients feel safe, heard, and valued. I prioritize what matters most to each client, honoring their unique experiences, goals, and strengths while working collaboratively toward meaningful change. Therapy is tailored to the individual, drawing on evidence-based methods that support emotional growth, resilience, and self-awareness. For clients who desire it, I thoughtfully integrate Christian values into the therapeutic process, balancing faith with clinical best practices in a way that is supportive but not imposing. My goal is to offer compassionate care that aligns with clients’ values while empowering them to move forward and take actionable steps toward their goals with clarity, hope, and purpose.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I have a heart for serving women, especially those in transitional stages of life, such as pregnancy, motherhood, or those who are contemplating educational or career changes. I have specific training and experience in these areas.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, goal-oriented therapy that helps people identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. It’s based on the idea that how we think, feel, and act are closely connected, and that changing thoughts and behaviors can improve emotional well-being. CBT is typically short-term, skills-focused, and practical, often involving exercises or homework to apply strategies in everyday life.

Eclectic

With this approach, I draw techniques and ideas from multiple therapeutic modalities, rather than relying on a single theory. I will tailor interventions to your unique needs, goals, and situation, combining methods (such as CBT, solution-focused, mindfulness, or behavioral techniques) to best support change. The focus is on what works best for you.

Faith based therapy

Faith-based therapy integrates psychological approaches with your spiritual beliefs and values. It uses faith traditions, spiritual practices, and scripture (when appropriate) alongside evidence-based therapeutic techniques to support emotional healing, personal growth, and meaning-making, while respecting your belief system and goals.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-based therapy focuses on cultivating present-moment awareness with openness and nonjudgment. It helps you notice thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations without reacting automatically, supporting emotional regulation, stress reduction, and greater clarity. Techniques often include mindfulness meditation, breathing exercises, and mindful movement, combined with therapeutic reflection.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a collaborative, client-centered therapy modality that helps you explore and resolve ambivalence about change. It focuses on strengthening your own motivation and commitment by eliciting your values, goals, and reasons for change through empathetic listening and guided conversation.
