I provide strength-based, structured support, helping clients overcome obstacles and adapt to transitions in life. My approach focuses on leveraging clients' existing strengths and developing practical strategies to achieve their goals. By offering clear, effective guidance, I empower individuals to succeed in their journeys. With years of experience as a therapist, I also specialize in business and veteran support. Utilizing business principals, and a background as a former veteran, I offer a unique understanding of transitions in both business and the military.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we’ll focus on getting a clear understanding of what success looks like for you in the context of your career transition or professional goals. We’ll start by exploring your aspirations—whether that’s adapting to a new role, overcoming challenges in your current position, or navigating a significant change like a promotion, retirement, or discharge from the military. Together, we’ll define what achieving success means for you personally and professionally, creating a clear vision for the future. Next, we’ll identify any barriers that could prevent you from reaching this success. These might include external factors, like workplace dynamics or industry challenges, or internal barriers, such as self-doubt, lack of motivation, or difficulty managing stress. We’ll explore these obstacles in a collaborative, non-judgmental way, ensuring that we’re addressing the real issues standing in the way of your goals. Once we’ve identified both the vision of success and the potential barriers, we’ll develop an initial plan for how we’ll work together to overcome these obstacles. This plan will be tailored to your unique strengths, skills, and resources, focusing on practical steps and strategies to help you adapt quickly and effectively. Our goal will be to create a structured roadmap, outlining the steps we’ll take to ensure you’re supported throughout this process. By the end of the session, you’ll have a clearer understanding of the path forward, estimated timeframes and we’ll be ready to start working on achieving your career goals, using a strength-based approach to ensure success.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe that I can help you achieve success by working together and unlocking your true potential.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

The ideal person to work with in therapy is someone currently navigating a significant change and seeking motivation to adapt and thrive. Whether due to a personal issue, promotion, retirement, a change in the workplace, or transitioning out of the military, individuals are likely encountering uncertainty. Transitions often bring both opportunities for growth and challenges to overcome, making it essential to address barriers effectively and develop strategies to adapt quickly. For those recently promoted, new responsibilities may feel overwhelming as they adjust to higher expectations, new team dynamics, or leadership roles. Therapy provides a space to identify the skills they already possess and explore areas for growth, allowing them to step confidently into their new roles. Together, we will focus on overcoming any self-doubt, managing stress, and fostering leadership skills to ensure success. For individuals retiring, the shift from a structured work environment to a less defined personal life can be challenging. Many experience a loss of identity, purpose, or social connection. Therapy helps clients process these feelings, discover new sources of fulfillment, and create a post-retirement plan that aligns with their values and passions. The goal is to adapt to this new chapter with enthusiasm, turning retirement into an opportunity for personal growth. For those transitioning between workplaces, adapting to new cultures, environments, or expectations may feel daunting. Therapy offers a supportive space to navigate these changes, work through any anxieties or self-doubt, and build strategies for integrating smoothly into the new setting. We will focus on setting clear goals, enhancing communication skills, and fostering adaptability so that clients can thrive in their new roles. Veterans discharging from the military face unique challenges as they transition into civilian careers. The change from a highly structured military environment to the relative unpredictability of civilian life can be difficult to navigate. Veterans may struggle with translating their military skills into civilian terms or face barriers related to mental health. Therapy will help them recognize the strengths they’ve developed during their service, such as discipline, leadership, and resilience, and apply them to their civilian careers. Together, we’ll work to overcome any barriers they face, whether emotional, psychological, or logistical, and de

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a great way to get started with therapy as we work together to find what the right fit is. Traditionally CBT is more structured and has opportunities for tools you can use independently. I utilize CBT as an initial treatment model until we can figure out the best fit for you.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT is a offshoot of CBT and one of the great benefits of this is it focuses on mindfulness, relationships, managing our emotions, and managing stress. I utilize DBT to ensure you have tools you need, including providing coping skills to maintain safety.

Gestalt

Gestalt therapy is a person centered approach that uses exploration to find new ways to manage symptoms. This type of therapy does address how issues from the past impact how we feel in the moment. This approach often utilizes creative ways to work through issues. I utilize this when we have a good therapeutic relationship and you need a bit more of a challenge to gain insight.
