We are 30,000-year-old beings trying to navigate a modern world that is often out of sync with our nature. If you feel "off-kilter"—struggling with a sense of unworthiness, survival instincts that won't turn off, or a history that feels too heavy to carry—you aren’t broken. You are human. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who thrives with motivated young adults, adolescents, and anyone tired of surface-level fixes. I don't offer a manicured or "clinical" approach; I offer an honest, energetic partnership. My goal is to help you navigate the "choppy" parts of life to find your own version of balance and inner peace.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is where we begin to map the "puzzle" of your life. You can expect an environment that is professional yet deeply human—I am not a "blank wall" therapist who just nods. We will start by addressing the immediate, tangible struggles that brought you through the door today. My goal is for you to leave our first meeting with two things: a sense of security in our plan, and a starting point for understanding the "programming" (like core beliefs of helplessness or worthlessness) that might be running in the background of your life. We will combine practical tools for today with a deeper look at your history to figure out what pieces of your story are missing and how I can be most helpful.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strength is my ability to be both a clinician and a fellow traveler. I see therapy as a "lighthouse"—a way to stay grounded while pursuing a better version of yourself. I use a mix of science and storytelling to help you understand the "biological bugs" in our brains that overemphasize survival at the expense of our peace. Specifically, I help you navigate the 4:1 "survival ratio"—the biological reality that our brains are naturally four times more sensitive to negativity than positivity. Understanding this mismatch is the first step toward reclaiming your narrative agency. I am comfortable diving into life’s deeper, more complex questions with intelligent and driven clients, yet I stay humble and grounded. I lead with a belief in the "corrective relationship," meaning I will offer you genuine support, but I am also willing to challenge you when it serves your growth. I believe the beauty of life is found in its imperfections, and I bring my full, authentic self to our sessions to empower you to do the same.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My Ideal Client: My ideal client is the "Intelligent Seeker"—someone who is self-reflective, motivated, and perhaps feels a bit "out of sync" with the world around them. I am best positioned to serve adolescents and young adults who are tired of surface-level advice and want to dive into the deeper questions of why they feel the way they do. Common Concerns: I work best with individuals struggling with "outdated programming"—those survival-based instincts that lead to persistent feelings of unworthiness, helplessness, or unlovability. Whether you are navigating a difficult life transition (like a career shift or a change in religious identity), grappling with a "painful history," or feeling the weight of a non-normative identity, you are my ideal client. Mindset: You likely value honesty, abstract thought, and a bit of unconventional energy. You might feel like a "puzzle" with missing pieces, or like a "30,000-year-old brain" trying to survive in a manicured, modern society. You don't want a therapist who just nods and stays silent; you want a grounded, authentic partnership where you are both supported and challenged. Therapy Goals: My ideal client isn't just looking to "manage symptoms"—though we will certainly do that. Your goal is to reclaim agency over your own narrative. You want to move from a place of reacting to life’s "choppy" nature to a place of finding virtue, balance, and inner peace. We will work together to find the answers to life’s unsolvable questions and build a life that feels honest to who you truly are.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I view CBT as the essential toolkit for managing the immediate "fires" of mental health. Based on Judith Beck’s framework, we work to identify the "primary programming"—those core beliefs of helplessness, unlovability, or worthlessness—that dictate how you see yourself and the world. By addressing these tangible cognitive patterns, we don't just treat symptoms; we begin to rewire the survival-based instincts that no longer serve you in the modern world.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Life is inevitably "choppy" and filled with internal struggles. I use ACT to help you stop the exhausting war with your own thoughts and feelings. We focus on "Acceptance" as a proactive choice—learning to coexist with the "bugs" in our biological programming while moving toward what truly matters to you. This method is about gaining the psychological flexibility to act on your values (your "North Stars") even when your mind is generating difficult noise.

Humanistic

My practice is rooted in the belief that the therapeutic relationship itself is the primary vehicle for change. I lead with authentic, undying positive regard and energetic passion. I don’t see you as a diagnosis to be fixed, but as a person—a "puzzle"—seeking to find their missing pieces. I provide a "corrective relationship" where you are safe to be imperfect, allowing your natural drive toward growth and virtue to resurface.

Existential

I believe that many of our deepest struggles come from the unsolvable questions of life: meaning, freedom, and our own histories. Utilizing the style of Irvin Yalom, I help you confront these inevitable challenges head-on. We look at therapy as a "Lighthouse" to help you find balance and inner peace amidst a random and often cruel world. This is where we move beyond surface-level fixes to explore the deeper "why" of your existence and take agency over your narrative.
