What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our initial session, we will begin with introductions and then delve into the particular challenges you are encountering in your life, as well as the areas in which you hope to effect change. You will gain an understanding of my therapeutic approach, and together, we will craft a customized plan to address these issues in subsequent sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am dedicated to cultivating a welcoming and non-judgmental environment where clients can feel truly seen, heard, and empowered to delve into their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I recognize that embarking on a journey like therapy is a brave stride towards healing and personal development, and I feel privileged to support you on your path to self-discovery and positive transformation.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Dr. Washington incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) into an integrative approach to therapy.

EMDR

Dr. Washington is a newly trained Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist who engages clients in an eight-phase treatment that helps reprogram memories of traumatic and stressful events. EMDR uses rapid eye movements and other bilateral stimulation techniques to decrease the power of emotionally charged memories.
