Hello! My name is Chapin and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Texas with four years of experience. My experience includes working within the school system as well as in private practice. I received my Masters of Science in Social Work from West Texas A&M University. I utilize a trauma-informed, client-centered approach in therapy to create a welcoming environment that encourages hope and growth.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is designed to help grow a comfortable environment and help you build a sense of trust in myself as the therapist and in the therapeutic process. As we discuss what brings you to therapy, and I dive deeper with further questions to improve my understanding, I hope to build a sense of rapport that encourages you in your decision to pursue therapy. After developing a sense of your background and needs, we will work together to define measurable and attainable goals that you hope to reach in your time in therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My experience includes working with children, adolescents, teenagers, and families within the school system. I also have experience working with carious ages within the private practice setting. Due to these multiple settings I have gained experience and knowledge in working with individuals with depression, anxiety, grief, anger, suicidal ideation, emotional disturbance, and family dynamics. I have participated in carious continuing education, including training for Young Professionals in CBT with the Beck Institute.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I hope to help clients that in the midst of their challenges, troubles, and difficulties strive to find the hope and growth that can come in therapy. While they may feel overwhelmed, depressed, and uncertain they are encouraged to utilize new tools and strategies to help feel more in control.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have used Cognitive Behavior Therapy for the past three years within my practice. Through this approach, I help clients identify dysfunctional or negative thinking patterns and core beliefs that can be affecting the way they face their difficulties in life. Together we work to modify these ideas and develop skills to help face difficulties with a different perspective and improved skills.
