Hey there! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) from Arizona. I received my Masters from Grand Canyon University, as well as a graduate certificate in Forensic Counseling. I've been practicing for 5 years. My goal is to guide others to finding compassion and self-worth, regardless of what life has thrown their way. I have experience working in private residential treatment facilities, community mental health, as well as a State prison setting working with incarcerated people, resulting in experience that reaches across all populations, demographics and needs.
In our first session, we'll start by getting to know one another better, and then begin to explore some of the goals you have and challenges you're facing. This will help me to create a plan specific to you as we work together to achieve your goals.
Having worked as a correctional therapist for many years, I have truly seen the power that empathy, self-compassion and a safe-space can do for a person motivated to change. I'm confident that together, we can find the cause of your challenges and a realistic plan for change and growth.
I love working with adults and young adults who are motivated to find healing, happiness, and self-compassion - even in the messy parts.

CBT can be really helpful in identifying negative thought processes. I may use this to assist you in gently challenging negative or difficult thoughts to increase positive change
I often use DBT to assist in managing distress, increasing self worth and effective pro-social skills.
I’ll use emphatic listening to ensure that regardless of what you’re going through, you feel valued, respected and heard.

I have been seeing Lina for a few months. She has been so great and comforting throughout our sessions. I don’t feel like I am just venting. Every session has been insightful.
