Hi there! My name is Chinh. If you’ve reached my page, chances are that your heart has been broken, you probably just had the umpteenth argument with your significant other, or you are just tired of the endless cycle of self-doubt, low self-esteem, and irrational thoughts/beliefs. Or possibly, you are here because of all of the above! Let me help you. I come from a culture that does not typically believe in mental illness. Emotional issues were either ignored or swept under the rug. I was taught growing up that it wasn't normal to want to talk about my feelings and showing any type of emotion was a sign of weakness. Because of my upbringing, my hope as a therapist is not only to help end the stigma associated with mental illness but also help normalize it. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas, Louisiana, and New Mexico. I also have a Ph.D. in Counseling. I have years of experience as a social worker, working with adults, couples, and families. I use a strength-based and holistic approach to motivate and empower my clients to problem-solve new ways to create positive and lasting changes in their lives.

I support individuals, couples, and families in understanding how traits associated with ADHD, Autism, Traumatic Brain Injury, and other neurodivergent conditions impact the neurodivergent individual and the dynamics of their relationships with partners, family members, coworkers, and classmates. I encourage my clients to identify their life purpose based on their values, strengths, and lived experiences, while providing actionable feedback through psychoeducation, insights, communication tools, and coping strategies tailored to their specific needs. My goal is to help them cultivate a life that is as unique and meaningful as they are. I work with various types of relationships to enhance communication, set goals, and prevent or resolve misunderstandings and breaches of trust, while helping to rebuild confidence in one another. This includes reinforcing relationship foundations and establishing shared meaning and purpose. Additionally, I enjoy assisting new couples in developing healthy communication skills and trust to strengthen their connection and foster resilient, lasting relationships. When working with children and teens, I adopt a systems-based approach to empower parents in supporting their children. I provide insights into how a neurodivergent mind perceives the world and the myriad demands placed on children today, regardless of whether they are neurotypical, neurodiverse, or anywhere along the spectrum. Drawing on my experience as an autistic parent with ADHD and as a caregiver to my own neurodivergent child, I empathize with families as they navigate the challenges of providing comprehensive support for their children while also prioritizing their own well-being.

My journey began in 1999, working in child and family welfare, and has since evolved into a dedicated practice focused on helping individuals aged 13 and up navigate life's challenges. I believe it is important to create a sense of safety and security in my practice. With safety comes vulnerability, and when we reach that space we will do our best work to help you feel seen, accepted, heard, and loved. Throughout my career, I've supported clients through a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including those who feel overwhelmed by the stresses of life, are battling low moods, or find themselves constantly worrying. Whether it's the weight of the past, the pressures of the present, or concerns about the future, I work alongside you to help ease these burdens. I specialize in trauma, adult ADHD, disordered eating, and body image/self-worth concerns. My therapeutic approach is integrative, combining Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with humanistic techniques to create a holistic, strength-based experience for my clients. Having faced my own struggles with body image and self-worth, as well as managing ADHD as an adult, I understand the importance of having a safe, supportive space where you can be vulnerable and feel truly understood. Therapy with me is a partnership where you can expect to be met with empathy, humor, and a genuine desire to help you uncover your strengths and achieve your goals. For those who may find it difficult to open up—especially men. My goal is to create a space where you can tackle what’s on your mind without feeling judged or pushed. Hey there! Are you feeling a little overwhelmed lately? You’re not alone. Maybe you’ve been juggling a million things, second-guessing yourself, or trying to keep everyone else happy while quietly burning out. If that sounds familiar, I see you and I’d love to help. I work with millennials, professionals and creatives who are ready to stop running on autopilot and start feeling more connected, calm, and confident in their own skin. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, going through a big life transition, struggling with boundaries, or just feeling “off,” we’ll work together to make sense of it and create space for something new. In our sessions, you can expect compassion, curiosity, and maybe even a little humor when it fits. I use an integrative approach rooted in evidence-based practices like CBT, but I also bring creativity and flexibility into the process because therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all, and neither are you. This is your space to breathe, reflect, and grow. You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to show up and we’ll take it from there, together.

Hi! I'm a licensed counselor in Florida (LMHC), Texas (LPC-Supervisor), and Utah (LCMHC). With over a decade of experience, my journey in mental health began with a passion for helping individuals overcome life's challenges and achieve their fullest potential. Throughout my career, I have dedicated myself to continuous learning and professional development. I have specialized training in trauma-informed therapies, which allows me to provide compassionate and effective support to clients who have experienced trauma. Understanding the profound impact trauma can have on an individual's life, I am committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment where clients can explore their experiences and find healing. In addition to my work with individuals, I have a deep commitment to helping couples strengthen their relationships. I am trained in the Gottman Method, a research-based approach to couples therapy that focuses on building strong, healthy relationships. Using this method, I assist couples in navigating and healing from betrayals, enhancing their communication, and fostering a deeper connection. Witnessing couples transform their relationships and rediscover trust and intimacy is incredibly rewarding. Outside of my professional life, I am passionate about self-care and mindfulness. I often incorporate these practices into my therapy sessions, empowering clients to develop their own self-care routines. I believe that a holistic approach to mental health, which includes attention to physical, emotional, and mental well-being, is essential for achieving lasting positive change. Whether working with individuals or couples, my goal is to help my clients build resilience, find balance, and lead fulfilling lives. By providing a supportive and empathetic space, I strive to guide my clients on their journey towards healing and personal growth.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Texas rather than a city like Dallas?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Texas from Houston to Austin! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Texas.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

What are the "Clients say I'm" badges?

Grow Therapy asks patients about their experience with therapists after they have had a certain number of sessions. After enough responses, we add those characteristics to their profiles to help you find the best online therapists for you. We're still working on collecting this information from all our therapists.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
