Hi, my name is Luz, my pronouns are she/her/hers, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). I worked as a teacher for over 15 years before making the journey into a community mental health career. I have experience in mobile crisis response, trauma, forensic mental health concerns. To explain who I am as a therapist, I reflect back to my role as an educator. In the classroom, there was a movement for the teacher to be less of a “sage on the stage” (teacher-centered approach) and more of a “guide on the side” (student-centered). To me, therapy is a lesson plan for a learning experience. It's a guide to develop what the client needs to learn in order to cope with whatever barriers are showing up in the client's life, whether that barrier is an internal issue, such as self-image, or how to cope with work stress. My therapeutic perspective is to provide empathetic, non-judgmental, compassionate guidance and support in an atmosphere of respect and safety while allowing clients to be the experts of their lives, much like “a co-pilot, a sous chef, or an assistant manager” of a client-therapist relationship. I use solution-focused elements to help move toward desired goals, cognitive behavioral techniques to challenge unhelpful thoughts, and motivational interviewing to help gain understanding and clarity. Outside of traditional therapy, I enjoy the practices of mindfulness, guided meditation, aromatherapy, and Reiki. Finding a therapist that's the right fit can be a challenging task, but taking that first step towards a healthier you is worth it. I look forward to working with you to help break down those barriers and make progress in areas that most matter to you.

Hi. I am a LPC in Georgia and a LCMHC in North Carolina. Additionally, I am a Nationally Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. I received my master's degree from VCU in 2015, became licensed in 2020, and have been practicing on my own ever since. I live by two mottos "It takes a village" and "take time for you". It is important to “take time for yourself,” because we need time to recharge, so that we can continue to persevere. However, there comes a time in everyone’s life where the support of the village is needed. That’s why I believe “it takes a village” and working together as a team is important. Whether it is a clinician and client duo, or a team of medical professionals, we can achieve reasonable and practical goals.

Hey, I'm Erin, and I love being a mental health counselor. I started my career as a preschool teacher, determined to save the world one child at a time. My father, the original Cooley, was a social worker who inspired my love of working with and helping people. Wanting to make a greater impact on the success of children and families, I pursued a Masters in Counseling. This began my journey into the world of mental health and it has truly been a journey of purpose for me. I tell my clients that I am a "geek" for counseling and I am always absorbing new information about the mental health field. I have been working as a trauma-informed therapist for many years. I am trained/certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and, more recently, EMDR. I take into account the whole person, understanding that many factors make up health. I am creative in utilizing many modalities to help you achieve your goals with your mental health and overall well-being. I deeply believe in the natural desire for each person to reach wholeness and believe you are the expert of yourself. I desire to guide, support and challenge you to reach your fullest, actualized self.

Your Well-Being Is in Good Hands! As a committed, professional Mental Health Service Provider of 5 years, your well-being and mental strength is my number one priority. I’m happy to guide you through all of life’s challenges with the attention and care you deserve. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including Anxiety, Relationship Issues, Parenting Problems, Career Challenges, Depression, Schizophrenia, Grief, Trauma, PTSD, Bipolar ADHD, and Personality Disorders. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse. I worked with various populations such as LGBTQ+,Homeless, Intellectually Disabilities, Prison's and Jail Systems. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic and rational-emotive therapy. I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. It is essential to keep in mind that therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix: therapy is a healing process that necessitates participation and investment from the patient and caretaker alike. But in the end, making small changes to self-defeating behavior and coping with feelings of sadness, fear, and pain can bring life-altering results. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you. I look forward to working with you!

Kudos to you for recognizing the need to focus on your overall well-being including your mental health. At the beginning of therapy many individuals often feel overwhelmed with various emotions, especially talking to a stranger about their concerns. I seek to make my clients feel welcomed and heard by working with them to identify past and present life events and the impact they have on their interactions internally and externally. I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows clients to explore obstacles with concerns related to anxiety, depression, and/or self-care. I focus on helping clients develop assertive communication & boundaries with themselves and those around them that can help improve their quality of life. Counseling sets the stage for self-awareness, healing, grieving, feeling empowered which can lead to change and growth. What you allow will continue, and change is a personal choice. If you’re ready to challenge yourself and create the life you want, I look forward to working with you.

Hi! I'm Jasmine and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker that has been practicing therapy for 6 years. I obtained a Bachelors in Psychology in 2010 at Eastern Michigan University and completed my Master of Social Work at Johnson C. Smith University, graduating in 2017. Do you have a hard time with change and life transitions? Do you feel overstimulated and unable to ground yourself? Do you feel isolated or "different" from everybody else? Are you exploring your identity, sexuality, or self-image? Are you seeking a therapist who can provide an atmosphere where you feel comfortable enough to vent, find relief, and explore your story– however unconventional it may be? Do you crave a space where you can find yourself or be encouraged to be the expert on your life while being held accountable for your goals? If you want to live a life that aligns with your values or true identity while communicating and reinforcing your boundaries, I can help you get there. Together, using strength-based and person-centered therapy with a psychodynamic touch (and a healthy dose of humor), we can partner and begin your journey to building the confidence to be who you are and enhancing your strengths. Finally, feel self-assured in your value and speak up for what you want in your life, relationships, and career. If you’re ready to build a happy, thriving life while being true to yourself, let’s chat today. I come from a military family that has been located throughout the United States, allowing me the opportunity to meet people from varying cultures and backgrounds. This has contributed to my ability to become more culturally competent and open-minded when working with different clients. When I’m not in therapist mode, I’m... Either out and about on the town attending open mics, enjoying brunch, having fun at concerts or at home watching the Food Network, cartoons, dramas, and comedies.

Hi, I’m Ashley. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and live in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina with my dog. My passion is supporting people in all stages of life work towards finding purpose and becoming the best versions of themselves. Maybe you can relate to some of my story. I became a therapist in 2019 to give back some of the hope that was given to me as I embarked on my own mental health journey. I remember thinking to myself, “Who am I?”, and “Am I good enough?”. I remember, and still know how that style of thinking can be overpowering, and become what I have learned to call “sticky thoughts”. These thoughts can lead to anxiety, depression, irritability, and can be the root cause of unhelpful coping skills and habits. Once we get into that negative cycle, it can feel impossible to get out. This occurred for many years, and consumed my entire being until I had support from family, therapists, sports coaches, and friends, and reached out for help. Let me tell you from experience, recovery is not easy. Working on yourself is one of the hardest things you can do, but the most rewarding, and I would be honored to walk alongside you as you do this meaningful work.
