New to Grow
I’m Waverly, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker- Supervisor, though most of my family and friends call me “Waves.” The nickname has always felt fitting because I believe life moves in waves. Sometimes it is calm and steady, and other times it can feel overwhelming and difficult to navigate. My role as a therapist is to help you find steadiness even when the waters feel rough. I bring warmth, patience, and evidence-based practices into each session with the goal of supporting you as you build resilience and work toward emotional well-being.
Therapy with me is collaborative and compassionate. I see each person as the expert of their own life, and together we create space to process challenges, explore new perspectives, and develop coping strategies that fit your unique needs.
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is creating a space where clients feel genuinely seen, heard, and accepted. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you with compassion, curiosity, and practical tools to help you navigate life's challenges. My approach is collaborative, warm, and evidence-based. I tailor therapy to each person's unique experiences rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. Together, we'll explore patterns, build on your existing strengths, and develop coping strategies that fit your life and values. What sets my approach apart is my belief that healing doesn't require having everything figured out. Life naturally comes in waves—some calm, some overwhelming—and therapy can help you build the resilience and confidence to move through each season. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, life transitions, trauma, self-esteem, or identity exploration, I strive to create an environment where you feel safe enough to be authentic while also feeling challenged to grow. Clients often describe me as approachable, patient, and down-to-earth. I balance empathy with gentle accountability, helping you not only process difficult emotions but also leave sessions with practical insights and skills you can use in everyday life.
I enjoy working with older teens, young adults, college students, professionals, and mothers who are looking for a supportive space to better understand themselves and navigate life's challenges. Many of my clients are experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship concerns, stress, burnout, self-esteem struggles, or are simply feeling overwhelmed by the demands of everyday life. My ideal clients are seeking more than someone to simply listen. They want a therapist who will help them feel genuinely seen and understood while also offering thoughtful feedback, practical tools, and gentle challenges when it supports their growth. Whether you're trying to manage difficult emotions, build healthier relationships, increase confidence, or create a more fulfilling life, I strive to meet you where you are while helping you move toward where you want to be. You don't have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. If you're open to self-exploration and ready to invest in your well-being, I'd be honored to support you through the process.
Other specialties
I identify as
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I use a DBT-informed approach to help clients better understand their emotions, respond to challenges in healthier ways, and create lasting change. Together, we'll identify patterns or behaviors that may no longer be serving you and explore practical skills to help you manage intense emotions, cope with stress, improve relationships, and feel more in control. Rather than simply talking about problems, I want therapy to give you tools you can use in your everyday life. My goal is to help you build awareness, strengthen your confidence, and make choices that align with the life you want to live, all while feeling supported throughout the process.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use a CBT-informed approach to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we'll identify unhelpful thought patterns that may be keeping you stuck and work on developing more balanced, realistic ways of thinking. CBT is a practical, goal-oriented approach, so you'll leave sessions with strategies you can use in your daily life. My goal is not to tell you what to think, but to help you become more aware of your patterns, challenge the beliefs that no longer serve you, and build healthier habits that support your overall well-being.
Motivational Interviewing
I use a Motivational Interviewing approach to help clients explore their goals, values, and the changes they want to make in their lives. I believe that lasting change comes from within, and my role is to support you in identifying your own strengths, motivations, and reasons for moving forward. Together, we will explore any barriers that may be getting in the way and work toward creating steps that feel realistic and meaningful for you. This approach allows therapy to be a collaborative process where you feel supported, not pressured, while building confidence in your ability to make changes that align with the life you want.
