New to Grow
I’m a licensed therapist dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity, resilience, and self-compassion. I strive to create a supportive and collaborative space where clients feel safe to explore their experiences and work toward meaningful change. My approach is grounded in empathy, authenticity, evidence-based practice, and a genuine belief in each person’s capacity to grow and heal.
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a foundation for our work together. We’ll discuss what brings you to therapy, your current concerns, and your goals for treatment. I’ll ask questions to better understand your background, strengths, and any factors that may be impacting your well-being. Together, we’ll identify what you’d like to focus on and begin creating a treatment plan that fits your needs and priorities. This session also gives you space to ask questions, share what feels most important to you, and get a sense of what working together will be like. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, supported, and hopeful about the process ahead.
My greatest strengths as a therapist include creating a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to be authentic and explore what’s truly going on beneath the surface. I bring a balance of empathy and honesty—offering both compassion and gentle challenge to support meaningful growth. I’m skilled at helping clients connect patterns, build practical coping tools, and draw on their own strengths and resilience. Clients often share that they feel deeply understood and empowered to make lasting change through our work together.
Many of the people I work with are struggling with feelings of depression, anxiety, and/or anger. They may have a history of domestic violence and/or sexual assault. They may be having current or chronic relationship troubles. May be using behaviors like self-harm or substances to cope. May be experiencing thoughts of not being here or dying. If any part of that sounds familiar, you don’t have to face it alone!
I use CBT to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to distress. By developing more balanced ways of thinking and learning practical coping skills, clients gain tools to manage emotions and make meaningful changes in their daily lives.
DBT informs my work through its focus on emotional regulation, mindfulness, and distress tolerance. I find this approach particularly helpful for clients navigating intense emotions or relationship difficulties, as it balances acceptance and change—helping clients build stability while continuing to grow.
I use Motivational Interviewing to support clients who may feel ambivalent about change. This collaborative, nonjudgmental approach helps clients explore their own motivations and values, strengthening their sense of autonomy and confidence in moving toward their goals.
At the core of my practice is a person-centered philosophy. I believe therapy works best when clients feel genuinely heard, accepted, and understood. By creating a space of empathy and authenticity, clients can explore their experiences at their own pace and discover their own insights.
I draw from a strengths-based perspective to highlight clients’ existing skills, resilience, and resources. This approach encourages growth by focusing on what’s already working and building upon clients’ inner strengths to foster empowerment and self-efficacy. Your strengths have gotten you this far, we can use them to get you closer to your goals!
