(she/her)
Hi there, my name is Amanda and I am an LPCC licensed in both MN and ND. I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress. Whether you’re experiencing constant overthinking, emotional overwhelm, difficulty coping, or feeling stuck after painful experiences, therapy can help you reconnect with yourself and feel more in control. My style is warm, down-to-earth, and nonjudgmental. I use evidence-based approaches tailored to your needs, including ACT, mindfulness, relational, and person-centered therapy, and I’m trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) for trauma work. My goal is to help you feel more like yourself again.
In the first session, you can expect that we will get to know each other, identify what is impacting you and making sure we are a good fit. Gathering this information allows for you and I to create a focused plan moving forward to best help you. This is also what is called "the intake" or "assessment".
First and foremost my biggest strength is being person focused. Our work together will increase your awareness about who and what is important to you as well as how to create goals that mesh with your values and your identified meaning and purpose.
Sometimes life's stressors can reach an overwhelming point. Balancing work, family, relationships and everything else? That's a LOT. My goal is to provide a trusting and therapeutic space for you. Together we can identify what you would like to work toward. I have the most experience working with adults ranging from 18-50 years old. I have experience with anger, anxiety, grief, depression and trauma. I am trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) as well which is a trauma therapy.
Other specialties
I identify as
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I have been using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in my practice for about 3 years. This therapy allows you to become aware of what matters most to you as well as gain control of how you react to thoughts, feelings and situations. We will use this therapy to identify your values, what you are working toward and what brings you meaning and a sense of purpose. This approach also helps to move away from black and white thinking and be more adaptive.
Humanistic
I have been using a Humanistic approach in my practice for 4 years. This approach allows for me to have unconditional positive regard for my clients because above all, you are human first. We will use this therapy to meet you where you are at and allow your voice to be heard through active listening to determine what you want to work on and areas of growth.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I have been incorporating mindfulness into my approach for about 3 years. I look at mindfulness as a way to allow yourself to be focused more on the here and now. It also allows us to learn how to manage and handle what is going on around us and internally as well. Through mindfulness we can increase our self-compassion, self-esteem, awareness and overall well-being.

Amanda was very comforting and validating, while also pushing to find a solution. This kind of therapy is exactly what I was looking for.
