Hello!! I am a Licensed Clincial Social Worker and I have over 28 years of private practice experience with adolescents, families, couples and the elderly. I love what I get to do which means it’s time to focus on you!!! In our first session we will get to know each other and then dive into what you are seeking to change or improve in your life. We will work on developing a plan together to get you there!
I know what it’s like to be a grieving daughter and wife. I know what it’s like to be a single parent. I know what it’s like to care for a critically ill loved one. I know marriage and divorce! I’m confident I can help you and I would be honored to walk your journey with you.
I have been helping people find their inner strength and courage to make the adjustments necessary to greatly improve their lives. My approach has helped people from all walks of life, including CEO’s, moms, dads, professionals, teenagers, grandparents, seniors, high schoolers, and survivors.
What I've learned is that any type of loss (a loved one, a job change, a move, etc) can affect the way we manage our day to day lives. Grief therapy creates a safe space to express your feelings because everyone grieves differently and there is no one right way! Whatever you are feeling is normal and okay. We will develop coping strategies to help you get back on track!
I have been using CBT since 1993! We will improve your understanding of how your own behavioral patterns and unwanted sometimes negative thoughts play a central role in how you feel and function everyday! Understanding your own thought processes will make you stronger, develop healthier self-esteem and increase your happiness!
I am a huge advocate for family therapy! Often you alone can be the only one in therapy to illicit changes in your family system. Family therapy aims to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen relationships among family members. It can be helpful in many situations that affect family relationships and dynamics, such as financial problems, marital issues, communication breakdown, conflict over one or more issues, and life transitions to name a few.

Thanks for providing your expertise and giving individual tasks for each of us to better communicate and avoid my overreacting. I feel comfortable bringing up concerns that are important to me and for you pointing out how I can better react in the short term when I don't think about consequences of my temper and rapid decision-making without input from Susan.
