About me

Therapy is a space to be heard, understood, and supported. I provide a compassionate, judgment-free space where we can work together to better understand what you’re experiencing, build on your strengths, and develop practical tools to navigate meaningful change and create the life you want. My approach is collaborative, practical, and grounded in your strengths. I have been a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of Ohio for 15 years. I recognize that reaching out for therapy can be a big step, and you don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin. Acceptance and growth exist together. We can start wherever you are and take it one step at a time. I look forward to working with you.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is a friendly introduction, and an opportunity to complete an assessment. During this session we take time to develop a well-rounded understanding of who you are and how your experiences have shaped where you are today. I ask about mental, emotional, behavioral, family, developmental, educational, relational history, while also exploring the challenges, successes, and patterns that have influenced your life. We also discuss your goals for change, and how we can support it.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring a warm, curious, and collaborative approach to therapy. I take time to understand not only what you are experiencing, but also the patterns and experiences that may be contributing to the difficulties you want to change. I listen for connections between your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, relationships, and day-to-day experiences, and work with you to make those patterns easier to understand. I also believe in making therapy practical--offering new perspectives and concrete tools that can help you respond differently to difficult thoughts and feelings. Throughout the process I provide a compassionate and nonjudgmental space for you to better understand yourself while building the confidence and skills to create meaningful change.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

You may benefit from working with me if you want to better understand yourself, feel stuck in patterns you would like to change, or are navigating a period of stress, transition, or uncertainty. You may be struggling with anxiety, overthinking, self-criticism, emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties, or simply feeling like you aren’t living the life you want. People who want to explore the “why” behind their experiences while also learning how to respond differently and create meaningful change may be a good fit for my approach. You don’t need to have everything figured out before we begin. We can start wherever you are and work together to identify what matters to you and where you want to go.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you feel more in control of your life by teaching practical, real-world tools to manage anxiety, depression, stress, and other emotional challenges. CBT is a structured, solution-focused approach that helps you understand how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected—and how changing one part of the cycle can lead to real, lasting change. You may come to therapy feeling stuck in negative thinking patterns, overwhelmed by stress, or unsure of how to cope with strong emotions. With CBT, we work together to identify those patterns, challenge them, and develop new ways of thinking and responding. It’s a collaborative process where we set goals, track progress, and celebrate victories. With CBT, we develop strategies, and coping tools that help you apply what we discuss in therapy to their everyday lives. This creates a sense of momentum and growth that many people find empowering.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have found Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a transformative and empowering form of CBT when you feel overwhelmed by intense emotions, struggle with relationships, or feel stuck in patterns of self-criticism or impulsive behavior. DBT blends validation—accepting where you are right now—with the tools to create real change. I work with you to understand the “why” behind emotional reactions while learning new skills to manage them effectively. DBT is both compassionate and structured: it provides a clear roadmap for growth, while honoring your lived experience.

Motivational Interviewing

I often integrate Motivational Interviewing (MI) to support you when you feel stuck, ambivalent, or unsure about making changes. Whether you're facing a major life transition, trying to break a habit, or simply feeling unmotivated, MI creates a compassionate space to explore what you want—and what’s holding you back. Motivational Interviewing is a collaborative, nonjudgmental approach that helps you clarify your goals, connect with your inner values, and strengthen your own motivation to move forward. Rather than pushing change, MI meets you where you are, respects your autonomy, and guides you toward decisions that feel right for you. MI often serves as a starting point to build trust and insight. Together, we uncover what matters most to you and identify what’s getting in the way. From there, we develop a plan that feels manageable, meaningful, and aligned with your goals. You are the expert of your life—my role is to support you in making choices that support the version of you that you want to become.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you develop a different relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions rather than feeling controlled by them. ACT recognizes that painful thoughts and feelings are a natural part of life, and that trying to eliminate or avoid them can sometimes keep us stuck. Together, we work on making space for what you are experiencing, creating distance from unhelpful thoughts, and learning to respond to your inner experiences with greater flexibility and self-compassion. ACT also helps us look beyond symptom reduction to what matters most to you. We explore your values and identify meaningful steps you can take toward the life you want, even when difficult thoughts or emotions are present. I find ACT especially helpful when you want to move forward without waiting to feel completely “better” first.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I use a Person-Centered approach to create a therapeutic relationship where you can feel heard, understood, and accepted without judgment. I believe you are the expert on your own experiences, and my role is to provide a supportive space where you can explore what you’re feeling, thinking, and experiencing at your own pace. Together, we work to better understand your experiences, recognize your strengths, and explore what is meaningful to you. I offer curiosity, empathy, and genuine support while trusting that you have the capacity for growth and change. For me, Person-Centered Therapy is about creating a relationship where you can feel safe enough to be fully yourself—and supported as you discover where you want to go from there.
