Hi I’m Jennifer! Do you feel overwhelmed and exhausted at times from the demands in your life? Are you finding it hard to have a healthy work/life balance? Do you struggle to enforce boundaries? Are you consumed by your emotions? There's no need to continue to fight these battles alone when I can help! Individual therapy can help with many of these examples and more. Seeking therapy can be a big decision in life and I’m glad you are considering this commitment. I have over 25 years of experience helping thousands of individuals just like yourself with anxiety, depression, stress management, anger, grief, eating disorders, and OCD to name a few. Studies have shown evidenced based therapy such as CBT are proven to help decrease symptoms in disorders such as anxiety, depression, trauma, anger management, stress management, insomnia, and many more. Together, we will identify what wasn’t working for you, assess your commitment to therapy, and develop obtainable goals that will help you be your best self. I will give you tools that you can continue to use for a lifetime. And hopefully you will no longer need therapy but can rely on what you learned through therapy to help you should you encounter a bump along this thing called "life". You can book a session with me by contacting Grow Therapy. I look forward to working with you!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will start with a brief introduction, then begin to review your intake assessment which will have been sent to you ahead of time. After that, I like to spend the rest of the time getting to know you, what led you to therapy, and what issues you are currently having. We can then set up some goals you'd like to achieve from therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strength is my ability to sense what isn’t being said. Sometimes it's hard to give voice to feelings that have been repressed for so long, especially if you've suffered from trauma and severe depression. We all want to be understood. We all want to be heard. I use my ability to give you an opportunity to be heard and understood for maybe the first time in your life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

This is evidenced based which means it is proven effective in treating those who suffer from depression and anxiety, along with other behavior types of disorders

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)

Clinically trained and certified to used ERP, which is the gold standard in helping individuals suffering from OCD and other anxiety disorders

Psychoeducation

I will provide you plenty of biofeedback and educational materials for you to understand the topics we will discuss in-session and homework assignments for you to work on outside of session through psychoeducation.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

This therapy is based on the idea that negative emotions come not from our experiences but from the reluctance to accept them. Avoiding these uncomfortable feelings can create more distress. ACT teaches you to accept the stress, discomfort and negative emotions in order to work through them.
