I am a Certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I have over 8 years of experience as Nurse Practitioner and 20 plus years experience in the world of health care. I have 5 degrees from the following: Clark Atlanta University, Life Univerity, Ohio University, University Alabama Birmingham, Spring Arbor Univerity and a soon-to-be Doctorate from A.T. Still University. I am here to listen, talk, and help patients navigate all of life's complications.
The goal of the first session is for me to get to know you. This is done by asking questions about your life, your background, and what brought you to therapy. The other important goal of the first session is for us to start the process of getting comfortable with each other.
My greatest strengths as a provider include 1) my capacity to connect with myself, my emotions, and thoughts, 2) how well I know the therapy I deliver, 3) my passion for my work and empathy, and 4) having an open mind.
I am here to serve those who are looking to become the best versions of themselves.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
Through commitment and therapy, patients can accept their thoughts and feelings without judgment and focus on the present. This helps them to realize that their feelings are appropriate and should not prevent them from moving forward with their lives.
