LMHC, 15 years of experience
I am deeply committed to helping each of my clients reach their full potential and achieve meaningful, lasting change. My approach blends compassion, insight, and practical strategies, with a focus on increasing self-awareness, strengthening emotional resilience, and teaching healthy coping skills that can relieve difficult symptoms quickly and effectively. I believe that healing happens through both understanding and action, so I guide clients in exploring the root of their experiences while offering tools they can use right away to feel more grounded and in control. My clinical work is grounded in Mindfulness, EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. These evidence-based approaches allow me to tailor therapy to each client’s needs—whether we are processing trauma, reframing unhelpful thought patterns, regulating the nervous system, or building healthier behaviors and relationships. My goal is always to meet clients where they are and support them with both gentleness and clarity. I graduated from the University of Miami in 2006, and for nearly twenty years I have dedicated my career to understanding human behavior and guiding individuals through meaningful transformation. I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, including private practice, group practice, behavioral therapy organizations, and a substance abuse clinic. I also served as a Professor of Psychology, an experience that deepened my passion for the field and strengthened my ability to teach, guide, and support others on their personal growth journey. I work with clients experiencing trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, and life transitions. I am especially aligned with individuals who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected yet are ready for a deeper, more authentic way of living. Above all, I aim to create a safe, supportive space where you feel seen, understood, and empowered. I look forward to working with you!
In our first session together, my goal is to create a calm, supportive space where you can feel heard and understood. We’ll start by talking about what brought you in, what you’ve been carrying, and what you hope will change. I’ll ask some gentle questions to get a fuller picture of your history, your current challenges, and your strengths. This helps me understand how your past experiences, emotions, and nervous system responses are showing up in your life today. You’ll also get a sense of how I work: an integrative blend of EMDR, hypnotherapy, somatic awareness, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy. I’ll explain what each of these approaches can offer and check in with you about what feels comfortable and aligned. Together, we’ll outline your goals, identify what support you need, and begin creating a roadmap for your healing. Most clients leave the first session feeling lighter, clearer, and more hopeful, simply because they finally have a safe space to begin. You don’t have to prepare anything or show up a certain way. Just come as you are. I’ll meet you there.
I am deeply committed to helping my clients reach their full potential and meet their treatment goals. I bring a calm, compassionate presence and an integrative skill set that allows me to meet you exactly where you are. My work is centered on building self-awareness, strengthening emotional resilience, and guiding you toward a deeper understanding of the patterns that shape your life. I believe in creating lasting change through both insight and action, so I incorporate practical, healthy coping skills that bring relief to difficult symptoms early in our work together. At the same time, I help you explore the roots of your experiences so you can heal at a deeper level, not just manage the surface. My strengths lie in blending evidence-based approaches—such as EMDR, hypnotherapy, somatic awareness, and ACT, with genuine human connection. I provide a safe, supportive environment where you can be honest, grow at your own pace, and feel truly seen. My goal is to empower you to step into the strongest, most aligned version of yourself.
I work best with clients who are ready for meaningful, lasting change—people who may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected, yet still hold a quiet hope that life can feel better than it does right now. Many of my clients are navigating the impact of childhood emotional neglect or relational trauma, struggling with self-esteem, boundaries, anxiety, or patterns that repeat no matter how hard they try to shift them. I am especially aligned with individuals who are seeking a deeper kind of healing: clients who want to understand themselves more fully, release old wounds, and build healthier ways of relating to themselves and others. They’re open to exploring both the mind and the body, curious about the subconscious, and willing to work with approaches like EMDR, hypnotherapy, somatic awareness, and ACT. My ideal clients are thoughtful, sensitive, often high-achieving on the outside but carrying a lot internally. They value personal growth, emotional clarity, and the guidance of a therapist who is both warm and direct. They are motivated not just to manage symptoms, but to heal the root causes so they can live with more peace, confidence, and alignment. If you’re longing for clarity, stability, empowerment, and a deeper connection to yourself, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
I have extensive experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as part of my integrative clinical approach. Over the years, I’ve used CBT with clients facing anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, relationship issues, and patterns of self-doubt or negative thinking. My work with CBT focuses on helping clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected, and how small but intentional shifts can create meaningful, lasting change. In sessions, I guide clients in identifying unhelpful thought patterns, exploring where those beliefs originated, and learning practical skills to challenge and replace them with healthier, more accurate perspectives. We also look at how behaviors reinforce certain emotional states, and together we create strategies that support new habits, emotional balance, and a greater sense of control. I tailor CBT to each person’s needs—whether that means building coping skills, reframing limiting beliefs, or developing structured plans to decrease avoidance, anxiety, or negative self-talk. My approach combines evidence-based techniques with warmth, insight, and a deep understanding of how past experiences shape current patterns. I also integrate CBT with modalities like Mindfulness, ACT, EMDR, and hypnotherapy when appropriate, allowing for both symptom relief and deeper healing. Overall, my goal with CBT is to help clients gain clarity, develop effective tools, and feel more empowered in their daily lives.
I have extensive experience using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to support clients in navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem challenges, and life transitions. My work with ACT focuses on helping clients increase psychological flexibility—the ability to accept difficult emotions, connect with their values, and take meaningful action in their lives, even in the presence of discomfort. In sessions, I guide clients in exploring what truly matters to them and identifying the values that can serve as a compass for decision-making and behavior. We work on building awareness of unhelpful thought patterns and emotional avoidance, while practicing mindfulness and acceptance strategies to reduce struggle with painful internal experiences. My approach is highly individualized, blending ACT techniques with tools from mindfulness, CBT, EMDR, and somatic awareness when appropriate. This allows clients to not only develop coping skills for immediate relief but also cultivate long-term resilience, emotional regulation, and a deeper connection with themselves. I emphasize experiential exercises and practical strategies that help clients notice their thoughts without being controlled by them, step toward meaningful action, and create a life that aligns with their values. Many clients report feeling more empowered, grounded, and able to move forward with confidence after incorporating ACT into their healing journey. Overall, my goal with ACT is to help clients live a more conscious, values-driven life—one where they can respond to challenges with clarity and compassion rather than avoidance or self-judgment.
I have significant experience using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as part of my integrative, trauma-informed practice. Over the years, I’ve used EMDR to help clients process childhood emotional neglect, relational trauma, anxiety, depression, and distressing experiences that continue to impact their thoughts, emotions, and relationships. My approach to EMDR is gentle, attuned, and highly individualized. Before beginning any reprocessing, I spend time helping clients build the internal resources they need to feel grounded and safe. This often includes nervous system regulation skills, mindfulness, and strengthening the client’s sense of stability and self-trust. Once the foundation is in place, we move at a pace that feels comfortable and collaborative. During EMDR, I guide clients in accessing memories or emotional patterns that still feel charged or unresolved. Through bilateral stimulation—such as eye movements or tactile pulsers—we help the brain reprocess those experiences so they can be stored in a more adaptive and less distressing way. Clients often describe feeling more clarity, emotional relief, and distance from old triggers after sessions. My work with EMDR is deeply integrative. I combine it with approaches like mindfulness, somatic awareness, CBT, ACT, and hypnotherapy when appropriate. This allows clients to not only heal difficult memories but also understand the patterns connected to those experiences, strengthen healthier coping strategies, and create lasting change at both a cognitive and emotional level. Ultimately, my goal with EMDR is to help clients feel freer, more grounded, and more connected to their authentic selves—so they can move forward with confidence and inner peace.
