The past decade has focused on adults struggling with various mental health issues, supporting the families involved and supporting individuals at various stages of their healing journey.
Good on you! You have made a decision to show up for yourself. The first session is a starting point to see if there is a good therapeutic fit and if you feel comfortable and heard. During this meeting, we will spend time getting to know one another and talking about why you are seeking therapy at this time. I'll ask questions to get a better understanding of your concerns, obtain relevant history and what your goals are that I can support you in achieving. It is also an opportunity for you to ask me questions about the therapeutic process, concerns, preferences and setting goals. This meeting is just the beginning...there is no pressure to share everything. My role is for you to feel safe sharing at a pace that is comfortable for you.
