New clients continue care with this provider

Hello! My name is Adrian Stanley. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Maryland and California with a Masters in Professional Counseling. I work with children and adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, as well as psychotic & mood disorders. I also work with couples for premarital, relationship & life transition issues and divorce counseling.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges and areas of concern you're facing. This will help me create a tailor-made plan for us to work through in following sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Being a military spouse, I have relocated to several areas of the country, and explored several communities. This has given me a broader look at recovery from various populations of people, thus strengthening me in areas of multi-cultural counseling in cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, and solution-focused modalities.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with those who are ready to seek a change in their life, no matter what stage of change they are in. I serve those who are willing to explore new beginnings and ready to do the work it takes to achieve their desired outcome.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is one of the most commonly used forms of behavioral therapy and is one of the longest-standing evidence-based methods for focusing on changing one’s thoughts and behaviors. The theory behind it is, that by working to change your thought patterns, you can influence different thoughts, outcomes, and behaviors. 5+Years of Experience

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Person-Centered is a non-directive form of talk therapy, meaning that it allows the client to lead the conversation and does not attempt to steer the client in any way. This approach rests on one vital quality: unconditional positive regard. This means that the therapist refrains from judging the client for any reason, providing a source of complete acceptance and support. 5+Years of Experience

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a short-term goal-focused evidence-based therapeutic approach, which incorporates positive psychology principles and practices, and which helps clients change by constructing solutions rather than focusing on problems. In the most basic sense, SFBT is a hope friendly, positive emotion eliciting, future-oriented vehicle for formulating, motivating, achieving, and sustaining desired behavioral change. 5+Years of Experience
