I am a psychologist serving Texas clients who are dealing with various issues including depression, anxiety, family relationship issues, cognitive issues (including dementia and learning differences), grief, loss, career development/transition, and trauma. I am also a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor (LCMHCS) in NC. In my lifetime I have worked as a teacher, coach, special educator, counselor, and psychologist, with the common thread being my love and compassion for the welfare of people. I graduated from Walden University in 2005 with a PhD in Clinical Psychology, and I have an MS in Psychology from Walden (2001) as well as MS degrees in Special Education (1998) and Physical Education (1988) from McDaniel College in MD. Most recently I specialized in geriatrics, end-of-life issues, and grief/loss. Recently, I earned a Grief Recovery Specialist Certification, as well as an End of Life Doula Certificate. I hold a certificate as an advocate for Americans with Disabilities Act Amendment Acts of 2008 (ADAAA) involving equal access and humanism in court related matters. I am a lifetime member of Psi Chi Honorary Psychology Society, and a member of American Psychological Association. I am a founding member of the International Society for Therapeutic Jurisprudence. A large portion of my time is spent as a psychology professor at Upper Iowa University, Southern New Hampshire University, and Texas A & M Central Texas, all online. I have three adult children and five grandchildren, and a service boxer named Oliver. In my spare time, I enjoy swimming, golf, playing guitar, academic writing, cuddling with my dog, and attending any and all of my grandchildren's sports and fine arts programs.
