I am a Milwaukee-based Licensed Professional Counselor relocating my practice to Madison in spring 2026. I have spent my career working with some of the most complex and misunderstood presentations in mental health — narcissistic abuse survivors, personality disorders, complex trauma, and individuals navigating major life transitions including divorce, career changes, and identity work. I also have a particular passion for working with college students and any adults who are figuring out who they are outside of the roles and expectations that have defined them. Outside the therapy room I am endlessly curious — about people, about history, about the human experience in all its complicated beauty. I believe the best therapy happens when a real human being shows up for another real human being. That is what I bring to every session.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session is yours. There is no agenda, no checklist, and no pressure to have everything figured out before you arrive. I will not hand you a worksheet or ask you to rate your feelings on a scale of one to ten. What you can expect is a real conversation with a real human being who is genuinely curious about you — not your diagnosis, not your history on paper, but you. We will talk about what brought you here, what you have already tried, and what you are hoping for. I will ask questions that might surprise you. I will probably make you laugh at least once. You do not need to perform wellness or have the right words. You just need to show up exactly as you are. That is always enough. By the end of our first session my goal is simple — that you leave feeling genuinely heard, possibly seen in a way you did not expect, and cautiously hopeful that this might actually be different.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What stands out most is that I show up as a full human being in the room. I am warm, direct, and genuinely nonjudgmental — and I will gently challenge you when challenge is what you need. I do not believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. I follow the thread of what is actually happening with you rather than applying a formula. I specialize in helping clients understand the deeper patterns underneath their presenting concerns — the childhood wound beneath the anxiety, the identity question beneath the relationship problem, the survival mechanism that once protected you and now holds you back. Clients often tell me they finally feel like someone truly gets them. My results speak through the breakthroughs that happen when someone feels genuinely safe enough to tell the truth — sometimes for the first time. That is where real change begins.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to serve clients who feel like they don't quite fit the mold — people who have struggled to find a therapist who truly gets them, who have complex histories, or who have been told they are "too much" or "too difficult." My specialty areas include narcissistic abuse recovery and complex relational trauma, personality and mood disorders, and life transitions including career and identity work. I particularly enjoy working with survivors of toxic relationships who are ready to reclaim their sense of self, individuals navigating the long aftermath of childhood wounds, and people whose presenting concerns sit at the intersection of trauma, identity, and self-worth. I also specialize in working with LGBTQ+ affirming care and alternative lifestyle communities including kink-aware, body modification, and pagan and wiccan populations — spaces where finding a genuinely nonjudgmental therapist can feel rare. My ideal client is someone who is ready to do real work, values honesty over comfort, and wants a therapist who will show up as a full human being in the room rather than a blank slate. I work best with people who appreciate a direct, warm, and creatively engaged approach to therapy. If you have ever left a therapist's office feeling unseen, misunderstood, or like you had to edit yourself to be acceptable — you are exactly who I am here for.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

My approach is integrative and client-led, drawing from evidence-based modalities including Interpersonal Psychodynamic therapy, DBT, CBT, ACT, Schema Therapy, Gestalt, and trauma-informed frameworks. Rather than applying a single method to every client, I meet each person where they actually are and select the tools that best fit their unique needs, history, and goals. In practice this means our work together may weave between building coping skills, processing past experiences, challenging unhelpful patterns, and exploring deeper questions of identity and meaning — always guided by what serves you most in the moment.
