Hello and Welcome. I commend you for taking the time to identify the right therapist for you, and I would be delighted to have the opportunity to serve you through your journey to either heal, grow, or build. I am a Marriage and Family Therapist; I aim to help individuals strengthen their sense of self and relationships. I have over ten years of experience working with individuals of all ages, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds who have experienced various mental health challenges.
During our first session, expect to be welcomed into an energetically positive, safe space to begin our journey together. I'll explain my approach and the therapeutic process and answer any questions you may have. I'll invite you to share with me what brings you to therapy and what goals you want to achieve. I will gather some background information to develop insight into your needs and collaborate with you to build your personalized treatment plan.
My extensive knowledge and years of hands-on experience working with others make me well-equipped and confident in my practice. I always tell folks that I was born to work in this field. I have always been passionate about working with others, and that may have come from my personal experience as a first-generation immigrant who was blessed enough to receive the help I needed during my adolescent years. Still, I am always eager to learn more about human behavior, psychology, and therapeutic approaches to develop my therapy techniques and better serve those I get the opportunity to work with.
I love working with individuals who want help and are open to change. I am here to support anyone who wants to talk about their challenges and develop the insight and skills that will allow them to navigate life more easily.
I work from a culturally dynamic, psychodynamic, EMDR, DBT, CBT, and trauma-informed approach. If you find I may be a good fit for you, after an initial consultation, I will do my best to develop a personal treatment plan based on your needs and expectations.
I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to help clients heal, improve their quality of life, and reduce the emotional impact traumatic experiences have left on them.
