I use a down-to-earth, straight-forward approach to address attachment trauma, and how it manifests in adults. I create space to explore all aspects of oneself without judgement. I have a background in medical research, case management, and psychotherapy. I've worked in various healthcare environments that include the ER, PICU, psychiatric floors, crisis stabilization, residential, and outpatient private practice. I'm a proud USC graduate.
During the first appointment I collect information necessary to complete a diagnostic assessment. I provide a bit of relevant information about myself so clients can decide if I'm a good fit for them.
My strengths are research, humility, and humor. I like to stay 'in the know' about recent publications relative to my client population. I like to provide clients with an opportunity to become a bit more comfortable with difficult conversations and productive problem solving. And who better to do it with than a therapist? I appreciate when clients provide me with honest feedback, and it's a great way to practice having difficult conversations in a productive way.
I work with adults who experience depression, anxiety, and or trauma symptoms. I specialize in attachment trauma that resurfaces in our relationships as an adult. Attachment trauma includes any or all childhood experiences that include an invalidating environment, a lack of attunement, neglect, emotional abuse, mental abuse, and physical abuse.
I use a combination of attachment-based, mentalization-based, dialectical behavioral, and cognitive behavioral therapy modalities for adults who are having difficulty with life transitions, career dissatisfaction, and relationship issues.
