New to Grow
Hello, my name is Benjamin Magliocca and my vocation is to serve my community as a mental health counselor. Even at its best, life is complex and at times it can seem impossible to manage. In my therapy, my intent is to walk beside you in all of these times, and help you navigate the challenges your life presents. We will start by creating a solid and connected relationship as a foundation. This relationship will allow us to recognize your strengths and use them to promote positive solutions and change in your life. My aim is to measure, reflect, and celebrate this positive change to empower you and motivate you to set goals and continue a cycle of betterment.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin identifying the changes you’d like to see in your life. Whether those goals feel big or small, most people come in with a desire to grow, learn, or improve in some way. My role is to help bring that into focus through our conversation and work with you to develop a clear, meaningful plan to move toward your goals.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My therapeutic approach is grounded in a mindset I often return to: helping you reach a point where you no longer need me. My goal is to support you effectively and efficiently, so you leave each session with a sense of direction, confidence, and the tools to continue growing on your own. While I truly value the relationships built in therapy, this work is ultimately about empowering you to move forward independently.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My therapeutic approach is helpful for both adolescents and adults because it balances insight with practical, actionable change. By focusing on present choices, thought patterns, and strengths, it allows adolescents to build self-awareness, emotional regulation, and decision-making skills in a way that feels engaging and applicable to their daily lives. For adults, it supports deeper reflection on long-standing patterns while still emphasizing realistic strategies for change, helping them feel empowered, capable, and more in control of their progress.
Reality Therapy
Reality Therapy can be used to help clients focus on present behaviors and choices rather than past experiences, emphasizing personal responsibility and the ability to meet their basic needs in healthier ways. In counseling, I help guide clients to evaluate whether their current actions are effectively helping them achieve their goals and support them in making more constructive, goal-oriented decisions.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In my work, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you understand how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are all connected. Together, we’ll identify unhelpful thinking patterns and work on developing more balanced, realistic thoughts, while also building practical skills that support healthier behaviors and emotional well-being.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help you focus on your strengths and the solutions you want to build rather than the problems that brought you in. Together, we’ll identify what is already working, clarify your goals, and take small, practical steps toward the changes you want to see in your life.
