Hey! I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia with a certification in Substance Use (CSAC). My experience in Mental health counseling started in 2017 and has expanded from many different settings - in patient, methadone clinics and private practice. My goal as a counselor is to build a strong foundation for my clients to both grow from their past while also embracing the future.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

For our first session, I love to embrace learning about you. Don’t worry, we can start slow or dive right in! We’ll start wherever you’re comfortable, but don’t worry if you don’t know where to begin, I have ideas! Learning about you and the challenges you’re experiencing will allow me to build an ideal plan for our goals in therapy. As a provider, I also want you to feel comfortable with who you’re seeing so I’m open to introducing myself as well.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a provider, I’ve been told one of my strengths is having a calming voice/presence with my clients. I hope to create a soft welcoming environment that allows you to embrace therapy. While I also create that calm presence, I’m very mindful of challenging my clients when I sense readiness. Lastly, I’m very flexible to my process. This is your session, let’s frame it in the way that works best for you!

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Our thoughts, beliefs and behaviors are all connected with each other. Working to better understand or reframe these will correlate with our mood!

Motivational Interviewing

Utilizing Motivational interviewing, we can identify and create thoughts that encourage our readiness for change.

EMDR

EMDR can be great not only to address trauma but helpful with depression, anxiety and many common symptoms!
