Jessica Dobbs

LMHC, 11 years of experience

I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 10 years of experience who is committed to helping children, adolescents, individuals, and couples learn how to cope with mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, grief/loss, adjustment, self-esteem, sexuality, relationships, divorce, self-injury, suicidal ideation, medication management, and co-parenting. My theoretical framework is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, believing our thought patterns directly affect our behavior and working to change unproductive thought patterns to achieve emotional wellbeing. Another common part of my practice is utilizing mindfulness techniques to gain awareness and balance. However, I utilize aspects of multiple theoretical orientations based on the needs of the client. My passion for counseling stems from my desire to help others without fear of judgment and to be a part of removing the stigma of mental illness. When I am not working with clients; I am enjoying the great outdoors with my husband, our two children, and three fur babies. I hope I answered some of your questions and please do not hesitate to send me a message to answer any others you might have. I am here to meet you where you are!

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we spend some time getting to know each other. I also ask questions and take notes to get your history as well as an understanding for what brings you to counseling.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My biggest strength is the ability to provide a nonjudgmental therapeutic environment. I come in as your equal, listening to what you feel is harming you, and working with you to achieve your goals. I have worked with people from a variety of backgrounds, sexual orientations, gender identities, and concerns.
