About me

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who believes therapy should feel like a welcoming space where you can be honest, feel understood, and be accepted for who you are. My style is warm, genuine, conversational, and sometimes humorous. I believe therapy can be a place for both meaningful conversations and a little laughter, while creating space to explore the things that matter most to you. I view therapy as a collaborative process and believe that we work together as a team to better understand your experiences, identify your goals, and find strategies that work for you.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is the beginning of a conversation. It is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a therapeutic relationship. You’ll have space to share what brought you to therapy, what you’ve been experiencing, and what you hope to get out of our work together. We’ll talk about your current concerns, your experiences, and what feels most important for you to address. My hope is that you leave your first session feeling heard, understood, and more comfortable with moving forward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I believe balance is an important part of the therapeutic process. There will be times when therapy means simply having someone listen and hold space for you, and other times when it may be more interactive, with questions, reflection, and working through challenges together. I don’t believe therapy should look the same for everyone, so I meet each person where they are and move at a pace that feels comfortable and appropriate for them. I also believe there is room for humor in therapy. We can acknowledge the difficult moments and work through the things that hurt while also celebrating your progress, growth, and the good moments along the way. Even during some of the darkest times, I believe there can still be moments that make us smile. Therapy can be a space for both healing and finding joy along the way.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are individuals who are looking for a supportive space to better understand themselves, work through challenges, and create meaningful change in their lives. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, stress, relationship challenges, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck or overwhelmed. I especially enjoy working with people who are open to exploring their thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and relationships and want to become more intentional about how they move through life. You don’t have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. Whether you know exactly what you want to work on or simply know that something needs to change, we can work together to identify your goals and take things one step at a time.

My treatment methods

Motivational Interviewing

I use Motivational Interviewing as a collaborative approach to help clients explore what they want for themselves and what may be getting in the way of change. Rather than telling clients what they should do, I ask thoughtful, open-ended questions and help them explore different perspectives, values, and possibilities.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, we identify patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, low mood, stress, relationship difficulties, or feeling stuck. Rather than simply focusing on changing negative thoughts, I help clients slow down and examine whether their thoughts are accurate, helpful, or influenced by past experiences. We explore alternative perspectives and work on developing healthier and more balanced ways of responding to challenging situations.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I believe that effective therapy begins with creating a space where you feel accepted, respected, and comfortable being yourself. My person-centered approach means that I take the time to understand you as an individual rather than assuming that one approach will work for everyone. You are the expert on your own life and experiences. My role is to listen without judgment, ask thoughtful questions, and work alongside you to better understand what you need and where you want to go. I respect that everyone has their own experiences, values, strengths, and pace, and I tailor our work around those differences.
