Kristen Fiore
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with 12 years of experience in clinical and community settings. My prior experience includes individual therapy in the outpatient setting, crisis response in the community, and mental health evaluations and intervention in the emergency department. My foundation is in humanistic and person-centered approaches, while my experience in crisis intervention has given me the unique ability to integrate solution-focused techniques, strong assessment skills, and an understanding of how to utilize community resources. You can expect strengths-based therapeutic techniques in session to help identify your strengths and tap into your inner resources to overcome challenges and achieve your goals.
Strengths
My greatest strengths include authenticity, genuine care, and humor. I bring a collaborative presence to the therapeutic relationship and believe in meeting each person where they are with empathy, respect, and curiosity.
Ideal clients
You are the expert in your life; it is my role to listen, build trust, and collaborate with you to create a therapeutic alliance. We will work together to increase awareness around patterns in your thoughts, feelings, actions, and relationships, develop healthier coping mechanisms, and gain insight that will empower you to create change. No matter where you are in your journey, you do not have to navigate it alone.
Treatment methods
Person-centered (Rogerian)
Person-centered therapy empowers clients by treating them as the experts of their own life and experiences. It is built on the core belief that people have an innate drive toward person growth; this is achieved by establishing a strong and trusting therapeutic alliance built on authenticity, empathy, and unconditional positive regard, and fostering self-discovery.
Solution-Focused Brief Treatment
Solution-focused Brief Therapy focuses on actionable steps and future solutions utilizing your past successes, internal resources, strengths, and natural resilience. Change happens all the time, and identifying small, positive shifts can have a profound impact and lead to meaningful change.
