Hi, I’m Kara! I’m so glad you’re here. Taking the first step toward feeling better isn’t easy, and I want you to know how much courage it takes to reach out. Life can be incredibly tough at times, but you don’t have to face it alone. My role is to help ease any nerves you might have about starting therapy and to walk alongside you with compassion and support as you navigate this journey toward healing and growth.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we’ll take time to get to know each other and talk about what brings you to therapy. We’ll explore your goals and hopes for the process, and you’ll have the chance to see if working together feels like the right fit. I’ll ask some questions to better understand the challenges you’re facing, as well as the strengths you’ve already been using to navigate life’s difficulties. From there, we’ll begin to shape a plan that supports your goals and helps you move toward feeling more grounded, empowered, and well.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to connect with clients in a meaningful and authentic way. I lead with kindness, creating a space filled with warmth and understanding where people feel truly seen, heard, and valued. I approach every individual with an open mind and without judgment, honoring the uniqueness of each person’s life experience. Just as no two journeys are the same, I believe therapy should be tailored to fit each client’s specific needs, strengths, and goals, so that healing feels personal, empowering, and deeply supportive.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Are you tired of feeling stuck? Does low energy and motivation prevent you from enjoying life to the fullest? Do you find that your anxious thoughts keep you up at night? You are in the right place and I'm here to reassure you that relief is possible. I specialize in working with individuals who are navigating anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, difficult relationships or simply looking to build stronger coping skills. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, or just unsure of where to begin, I’m here to offer support, guidance, and a safe space to grow. Together, we’ll work on building resilience, fostering self-compassion, and creating meaningful change that feels empowering and sustainable. Let's get started on your journey to feeling better!

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my practice, I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy because it’s such a powerful and proven way to help people feel better emotionally. CBT works by helping us understand how our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all connected. I use it to gently guide clients in noticing patterns that might be holding them back such as negative self-talk or habits that no longer serve them, and then work together to shift those patterns in a more positive direction. It’s all about creating space for growth, healing, and a deeper sense of well-being.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

In my work, I take a person-centered approach because I truly believe that healing begins with feeling seen, heard, and accepted just as you are. This style of therapy is grounded in empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard. I strive to create a space where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts and emotions without judgment. I create a space where clients can reconnect with their inner strengths and move toward personal growth at their own pace. It’s about walking alongside each person with compassion and trust, honoring their unique journey every step of the way.

Interpersonal

I often use Interpersonal Therapy because so much of our emotional well-being is shaped by the relationships we have with others. This approach focuses on helping clients explore how their connections, past and present, impact how they feel, communicate, and navigate life. Together, we look at patterns in relationships, work through unresolved grief or conflict, and build skills for more meaningful and supportive interactions. My goal is to create a space where clients feel safe to reflect, grow, and strengthen the way they relate to themselves and those around them.
