About me

As a therapist dually licensed in counseling and substance use treatment, I believe every person carries unique strengths, stories, and untapped potential. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to your needs, drawing from evidence-based modalities such as CBT, EMDR, DBT, IFS, ACT, Family Systems, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and practical life-skills development. I’m passionate about helping clients understand how early experiences and relationships shape the way they see themselves, navigate challenges, and connect with others—and I’m continually inspired by the powerful ways therapy, supported by neuroscience, can help the brain and body heal. Outside the therapy room, I find joy in traveling, lifelong learning, reading, and cherishing time with my friends and family. I’m also deeply connected to the mind–body relationship and believe that true healing honors both. And on any given day, you’ll likely hear me mention my love of animals—especially my beloved corgis—who remind me daily of the importance of presence, curiosity, and play.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In your first session, my priority is helping you feel comfortable, welcomed, and truly heard. We’ll take our time getting to know each other, talking about what’s been on your mind, and exploring what you hope to gain from counseling. There’s no right or wrong way to show up—just bring yourself. I’ll gently guide the conversation, answer any questions you may have, and together we’ll begin shaping a path forward that feels supportive and hopeful. My goal is for you to leave that first meeting feeling lighter, understood, and confident that you don’t have to navigate things alone.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Throughout my 23 years doing therapy, I have learned that each of us has the inner gift of healing if provided a safe, supportive, empowering, respectful environment to identify and access our strengths. Clients and families are partners and leaders in their healing journey. I am privileged to help serve as a guide to help foster the life of meaning we each deserve. Wherever you are in your healing journey, is where we begin. Therapy should follow a road map paved with the goals of the client. We should always be moving forward. Not everyone is ready for the emotional investment required of therapy. My goal is to provide a non-judgmental space to achieve self-awareness and be the best version of yourself you can be.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with clients who are ready to invest in themselves—those who feel a pull toward a healthier, more fulfilling life and are motivated to make meaningful change. Therapy is most powerful when it comes from within, and I partner with individuals who are open to self-reflection, growth, and building a life that feels aligned with their personal values rather than shaped by stress, past wounds, or others’ expectations. I support clients facing ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, and major life transitions, offering tools and insight to break long-standing patterns and create a renewed sense of purpose. I have a strong passion for women’s issues, helping women navigate identity shifts, competing roles, and the pressure to “hold it all together.” My work also extends to relationships and family dynamics, including parent–child stress, communication challenges, and reunification in the context of Family Court involvement—an area in which I hold specialized expertise. Whether clients are rebuilding trust, healing from conflict, or redefining their place within a family system, I provide structured, compassionate guidance rooted in evidence-based practice. I also specialize in working with first responders, military personnel, and medical professionals—those who serve others in high-stress, trauma-saturated environments and often struggle to find space for their own emotional needs. Together, we work to address burnout, process difficult experiences, and reconnect with the parts of themselves that deserve care and rest. With extensive experience in leadership roles and human resources education, I am uniquely equipped to support leaders, executives, and professionals navigating organizational pressures, emotional exhaustion, and the weight of responsibility. I understand the complex intersection of personal well-being and professional demands, and I provide coaching and therapeutic guidance that helps clients find clarity, resilience, and healthier patterns of leadership. My goal is to walk alongside clients who are ready to do the work—those who sense there is more available to them than survival mode, and who want to reclaim joy, connection, and clarity. When the desire for change begins within, therapy becomes a transformative path toward a more grounded, empowered, and satisfying life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a core part of my therapeutic work, helping clients identify and understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. In sessions, I collaborate with clients to challenge unhelpful thinking patterns, build healthier coping strategies, and practice new skills they can apply in real-life situations. CBT’s structured, goal-oriented nature allows us to track progress over time, empowering clients to make meaningful changes and develop long-term resilience.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) into my practice to help clients build psychological flexibility and live more authentically. Through ACT, I guide clients in developing mindfulness skills, identifying their core values, and learning to accept difficult thoughts and emotions without becoming overwhelmed by them. Rather than trying to eliminate discomfort, we focus on creating space for it while taking meaningful, values-driven action. This approach empowers clients to move toward lives that feel purposeful and aligned with what truly matters to them.

EMDR

I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) in my practice to help clients process and heal from distressing memories, trauma, and experiences that continue to affect their daily lives. EMDR uses guided eye movements and other forms of bilateral stimulation to help the brain reprocess difficult events, reducing emotional intensity and creating new, healthier perspectives. In our work together, I support clients through each structured phase of EMDR at a pace that feels safe and empowering, allowing them to move beyond past events and experience greater emotional freedom and resilience.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

I incorporate Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) in my practice to help individuals and couples better understand and transform the emotional patterns that shape their relationships. Through EFT, I guide clients in identifying core emotions, recognizing attachment needs, and moving away from reactive cycles that create distance or conflict. By fostering emotional safety and open communication, we work together to build stronger, more secure connections. This approach allows clients to develop deeper empathy, strengthen their bonds, and create lasting, meaningful change in how they relate to themselves and others.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I integrate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) into my practice to support clients in managing intense emotions, improving relationships, and developing healthier coping strategies. Using DBT’s structured skill areas—mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness—I help clients navigate challenging situations with greater balance and resilience. Together, we explore practical tools that empower clients to stay present, reduce impulsive reactions, and respond to stress in ways that align with their goals and values. This collaborative, skills-based approach fosters long-term emotional stability and meaningful personal growth.
